🚨 NOTICE 🚨

Hi,
Just to let you know the shop will be closed Tuesday 27th as normal & Weds 28th. It’s my Mums funeral tomorrow & I’m taking a day on Wednesday to just catch my breath. I’ve been so incredibly busy since I re-opened that I just need a minute to process what has happened.

I would like to thank everyone for their condolences, cards & flowers over the last fortnight, it’s very much appreciated ❤️.

Not the update I wanted to give but..

My Mum passed away peacefully in the early hours of this morning. She fought long & hard but it was too much for her 🕊️.

Thank you for giving me the time I needed to see her through this until the end.

I will be back open on Monday because aside from being self employed & the reality of not being able to just check out of life for a while, I need routine & stability to cope at the best of times. It will help get through this.

Fair warning to you though , I will be emotionally unstable for a while, a simple show of kindness will set me off, or nothing at all will set me off. My mum was my little sidekick from the very first day of taking over my shop. It wouldn’t have possible without her. It’s gonna take a while to adjust to having to do it alone. I ask that you bear with me for a while, whilst I learn to navigate this new normal.

Hi,
Me again. So, full transparency here. I don’t know when I’m going to be back open now. Aside from myself being unwell my Mum has also been unwell, she was hospitalised in the early hours of this morning, which I knew when I posted this morning but I didn’t know just how unwell she actually was, nor did I want to put that out there for public consumption. The situation has taken a turn & we have now been called to Fairfield because she’s actually critical 😭. It will be sheer stubbornness on her part that will get her through this, her organs are working against her. As anyone who knows us well you know of my Mums health struggles the last few years. Shes fighting hard like the little trooper that she is. Please keep us in your thoughts & thank you for your patience & understanding at this time.

Morning all.
I’m not going to be in today. I’m so sorry 😩. Despite my best efforts, regular steaming, resting, staying hydrated, throat sweets, Sudafed, Vicks vaporub, I seem to be getting worse by the day, not better. My head hurts just lying on the pillow & I have very little in the way of a voice. I am radioactive with virus & I am not willing to put other people at risk, especially when a large chunk of my customer base are of the older generation. I will be back open when I’m more able than I am today. Once again, I am sorry. I hate letting anyone down 😔.
I will keep updating on here.

Hi everyone, Happy New Year.
Just a notice to say unfortunately we may not be re-opening tomorrow as planned. The weather has taken an inconvenient turn & as most of you know, I don’t drive. I have been drowning in a cough & cold since NYE & I’m fighting for breath just walking up my own stairs. Walking 20mins through snow, of which more is forecast overnight, with a small puppy, to the bus stop & waiting god knows how long for a bus in -7° just seems insurmountable to me, & somewhat foolish & irresponsible given that I’m not 100% well as it is. Leaving Dougal at home is not an option neither, he’s never been left alone for an entire work day, it wouldn’t be fair to him. I will re-assess the situation in the morning but I’m just giving you a heads up in advance. Apologies for the inconvenience, I’m not happy about it myself, I’ll be letting folks down which I HATE doing & the guilt will weigh heavy on me, but sometimes these things can’t be helped. I will keep you updated on here.

🎄 Christmas Closures 🎄

Just a quick message to let you all know our opening hours & closures. We are open for collections only today 9-3, tomorrow 9-3, Saturday 9-12 & Monday 9-3. Unfortunately I can’t take in anymore more big orders as I won’t get it done before we close for Christmas. I might be able to squeeze the odd small one in. Just call in & ask.
Our last dry cleaning order for collection before Christmas is tomorrow (Friday), back on Monday. Anything after that will go Monday 22nd & be back after Christmas. If anyone has anything in for collection could you please come & get it before we close, I want to have as much out the door as possible. Thanks!

Just a quick message to let you all know I’m now closed until Monday 6th October. I’m taking a much needed holiday. It’s been a bloody long, hard year so far. You guys have kept me on my toes & with a premises move thrown in for good measure.
Thanks for all your support this year, not just as customers but as a sounding board when you come in & I’m in the middle of a breakdown 😫😂 & for the thoughtful little gifts you fetch me to keep me going 🫶🏻. I appreciate you all.

The Ironing Basket 2.0 is back open for business at our new premises, 6, Union St! We still don’t have a phone line yet so either contact me on here or call in the shop. Thanks you all for your patience ❤️.

‼️ UPDATE ‼️

The shop will be closed now until Monday 28th July as we’re FINALLY moving premises 🙌🏼.
It’s been 2.5yrs in the making & I’m sure my regulars are sick to the back teeth of hearing about it, as am I talking about it, but we’re finally on the move. I would like to thank you all for your patience & understanding whilst we do this.
There’s a good chance we won’t have a phone line for a couple of weeks as they’re faffing about getting a line fitted but I will try to keep you all as updated as I can on here. Message me on here if you need me.
