You know it’s the school holidays when you’re out cleaning for a couple of hours while the wean’s at karate 🥋😂

Juggling it all isn’t always easy but I’m so grateful for the flexibility that being self employed gives me.

This home is now sparkling and ready for my clients return at the weekend. There’s nothing better than walking through the door to a fresh, clean home after being away ✨

I’m often asked what I do with my daughter during the school holidays.

These days, I’ve got my monthly clients arranged so that she rarely has to come to work with me. But for a good 8 years, she was my wee sidekick and came with me.

The mum guilt was very real! I used to worry that it was unfair on her, that she was missing out because she had to come to work with me.

Looking back now, I realise she gained so much from those years.

She saw the hard work and graft that pays for everything we have. She learned how to talk to people of all ages and backgrounds and she saw first hand the importance of turning up, working hard and treating people with kindness and respect.

One of my favourite memories is this one. Here she is teaching one of my lovely clients (who has since become a great friend) in her 80s how to play the Nintendo Switch ❤️

Sometimes the things we worry about the most turn out to be beautiful memories ✨

30,000+ steps in a typical working day.

This is what a deep clean can look like. It’s hours of constant movement, lifting, bending, scrubbing and attention to every little detail.

A lot of people only see the finished result but there’s a huge amount of physical work that goes into getting a home looking and feeling its best.

To all my fellow cleaners - don’t underestimate the value of what you do. Cleaning is skilled, demanding work and it’s ok to charge accordingly 🫶

And to my lovely clients, thank you for trusting me and recognising the effort that goes into every clean. It never goes unnoticed. ❤️

❌ “Why deep cleans are better than general cleans.”

The cleaning industry is HUGE and there’s room for everyone.

I’ve chosen to specialise in monthly deep cleans because they suit me and my business, not because I think they’re better than any other type of clean.

Weekly, fortnightly, monthly, maintenance cleans, deep cleans… they all have value. Every cleaner has different strengths and every client has different needs.

We don’t need to tear down someone else’s business to build our own. There’s plenty of work to go around 🤍

P.s I know a few amazing local cleaners who offer what I don’t and happy to recommend them anytime 💫
