Pretty art work on this open fire .
Lovely couple said they were having issues with smoke backing up .
This was half of what came out chimney.
All safe now and smoke test flew up chimney .

Really pleased as had this little head made by Rodtech UK .
Had a new customer who's aga was full of " ROCK HARD tar 2 and a half meters up in 5 inch flue.
The aga had stopped working leaking toxic fumes into the kitchen .

Put usual heads in and just hit black Tar .
This little fella went in and won the battle over a period of time making a gateway for the usual heads to go in after for deeper clean to customers delight . Working perfectly now 👌

Standard open fire from this week . Always check before sweeping whats going on at top of Chimney .What is on top or not...

Always check before sweeping whats going on at top of Chimney .
What is on top or not in regards to a bird guard or not . This one had tin hat with bird guard on so realised it must be very old nest after taking balloon down at opening and a large old nest is staring at me .
First two meters rammed with nesting material .
Two extra areas in chimney with nesting material higher up on bends .
Then hit the top and just can't get through .
Change rods and send big boys up with a tornado head .
Not moving so do a CCTV inspection and see someone at some point has shoved a Galvanised wire ballon guard on the wrong way round and jammed into the chimney stack in the past.

Clearly at some time after birds have nested again on top of that and then someone again has gone back up and put a tin hat with bird guard on .

Always a thrill to save bees .

Mr and Mrs Mitchel from Mitchel honey called as a honey bees nest had settled into open fire place where customers will have a new wood burner in the coming months .
Pauline and Richard asked me to go and do a CCTV inspection to locate where about in the Chimney the nest and honey was being formed and then gentley send the honey bees 🐝
Towards the special bee box which catches the bees safely on collection at top of chimney and then taken to a new safe location in nofrolk where they can live in harmony with mother mature and make honey 🍯

Checked top of chimney pot first as Scaffolding had been erected so we could see top of chimney .
Then back down rooftop to bottom of fire where a bag blocking bottom of open fire was removed and a birds best was siting on top which had to be taken out ontop of that .
Then time for the CCTV inspection locating whete the nest was inside .
At just over 6m up the bees were active up to 7 and a half meters up chimney .
They were coming in and out a section of bricks below top of pot.

So next stage is to smoke bomb from bottom where Mr Mitchell was waiting carefully and guided the colony into his box .
Succes.......
Then Mr Mitchell after around an hour and a half leaves another box at top of scaffolding boards to give any working bees out on tour the chance to be collected within the next day or two to be returned to the main colony who had been collected at stage one leaving scent and comb in box.

The task was carried out and the colony are safe to save our planet.

Had the pleasure of meeting Daisy a 13 year old labrador .
When Daisy was 5 years old she was stolen from her garden and vanished for 7 and a half years untill the Rspca were called to a site in another county all those years on and ended up scanning her only to realise she had been stolen years ago from owners Rita and Phillip Potter in Old Buckenham.
She had been used to breed from.

Mr and Mrs Potter have had Daisy back a while now where she is much loved and remembered all the house rules like she'd never been away .

Thought id share this incredible story with you all .

Quick video .
Lovely couple had wood burner installed around a year ago .
Wood burner had stopped working the last few days .
On taking the throat plate out a total blockage of tar .
Usual issue .

DAMP FUEL
Flue had tar the entire journey to cowl pot .

All safe and sound now and smoke tested .
