Far from new, but this set of rolls will be a great addition to our workshop. The large capacity rolls will allow us to roll all our boiler patch plates in-house. We have a few things still to organise on the shop floor to make space for this kit, and once they are levelled we should be good in a few weeks. This set really boosts our rolling capabilities and will be able to offer more than just patch plates in the future.

South of Scotland Enterprise Supports H & I Engineering LTD

Our new 10T overhead crane is being installed today, the old 5T crane was taken down over the bank holiday, to make way for the new installation.
Partly funded with the help of SOSE, this increases the capacity of this fabrication bay. We are always looking to make improvements to meet the ongoing demands for our services. This new installation will help with the continued growth of the company.

Early Monday morning loading by LAWSON HAULAGE LIMITED, this boiler has had a new tubeplate and a full set of tubes fitted. After hydro test and final inspections it on its way back to the Highlands curtesy of CHISHOLM'S RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LIMITED. Leaving us some valuable space in the workshop for baseframe fabrications.

Thursday visit to the AIMS Project for a tour and Kemppi welding demo. We also had a go on their AR welding equipment, this looks like a fantastic kit to introduce youngsters to welding.

Contract Engineer & TIG Welder

Contract Engineer.
We are currently looking for an experienced contracts engineer to join our existing team, to manage various projects from initial enquiry through to completion. Working alongside clients, other contract engineers and suppliers is a key aspect to this position

Key Responsibilities;-

to interpretate client enquiries & drawings, prepare quotations
to ensure drawings are suitable for manufacture
to understand technical information & produce quality documentation to customer requirements
to attend technical reviews
to co-ordinate engineering documentation and workshop activities
to prepare purchase orders and assist on material procurement
to ensure the projects are built & installed to customer drawings & information

TIG Welder
To produce consistent level of high quality welded joints on various products, while utilising a diverse range of welding processes & techniques. These are subjected to strenuous inspection with U/T, X-Ray & MPI techniques.
Time served Coded Welder essential
Completion of Recognised Craft Apprenticeship.
Good overall diversity in various welding processes
Ability to work on own initiative
Must be conversant with fabrication drawings
Work is based at both our workshop and customer’s sites.
Coded to ASME IX 2015
Coded to BS EN ISO 9606-1 : 2017
