Dealer support this week at Harbour Cars, preparing this lovely Porsche Cayman GTS for sale.

The paintwork received a full paint correction to remove defects and bring back the depth, clarity and gloss, followed by a 5-year Gtechniq ceramic coating for long-lasting protection and an incredible finish.

1 step or multi-step paint correction – what’s the difference?

A 1-step machine polish is great for improving gloss, bringing the colour back to life and reducing light swirl marks and defects.

A multi-step correction takes things further, using different stages of polishing to tackle heavier defects and achieve a much higher level of finish.

But the results don’t just come down to how many stages you do.

Choosing the right compound, matching it with the correct polishing pad and understanding how the paint reacts is what makes the difference. Experience is a big part of knowing what combination to use to get the best results without removing more paint than necessary.

Every car is different, so I assess the paintwork before deciding which approach will give the best result.

It's easy to concentrate on the outside of a car and forget about the inside.

Over time, dirt builds up in carpets, seats and all the little areas that don't get cleaned during a normal wash.
