Customer was told to just “jet wash it” 😭🤦‍♂️

Fast for the roofer?
Yeah.

Good for the roof?
Not a chance.

So we did it the proper way:

✅ Scraped by hand
✅ Actually inspected the roof while up there
✅ No lazy shortcuts
✅ Left it looking like a completely different house

This is the difference between cleaning a roof and actually caring about the roof..

Most people only see the final reveal and they don’t see the hours of scraping, checking tiles and doing it properly.

Jet washing is quick. Proper work lasts👍

The lazy option. THIS MAKES ME CRINGE
Fast for the roofer. Bad for the roof.
Looks clean for a video… until the moss comes back and the tiles start suffering 😬

2️⃣ Straight to scaffolding for EVERYTHING 🫣❌
Some jobs need it. Most don’t.
Funny how the invoice suddenly jumps by thousands before they’ve even touched the roof 😭

3️⃣ “You need a whole new roof” 🏠💸
One slipped tile or failed ridge somehow becomes a £15k quote… we just replace tiles for free

Crazy how some roofers always seem to find the most expensive option 🤔

Meanwhile we’ll keep doing it the proper way:

✅ Safe roof scraping
✅ Honest repairs
✅ No lazy shortcuts

1️⃣ Jet washing is the lazy option 🤦‍♂️
Anyone can stand there blasting water around.
Real roof cleaning takes time, effort and actually checking the condition of the roof while you’re up there..

2️⃣ It can really damage your tiles ❌
Especially on older roofs.
Too much pressure can wear tiles down, loosen pointing and turn a small issue into an expensive repair bill.. watching people make this mistake is hard to watch 🤦‍♂️

3️⃣ The moss usually just comes straight back 😭❌
This is the bit nobody tells you.
No proper scrape + treatment = paying for the same problem again in a few months.

Say what you want but…
We’d rather do it properly than do it twice 👀

Customer called us after paying THOUSANDS for a roof pressure “wash”…

Looked amazing.. for about 2 weeks

Then…

❌ Moss came back
❌ Tiles started looking worse
❌ Still had blocked gutters full of debris

Why?

Because the previous company took the easy option.

Quick jet wash. Quick invoice. Gone

No proper scrape. No treatment. No care about what condition the roof was actually in.

So we came in and did it properly:

✅ Scraped the moss safely by hand
✅ Actually checked the roof while up there
✅ Left it cleaner for longer, not just for Instagram

Funny how the cheapest, fastest fix usually becomes the most expensive one 👀

No you don’t. ❌

This client got quoted THOUSANDS extra before the roofer had even touched the roof.

For a ridge repair 😭

So instead of turning a small problem into a massive invoice, we did what REAL roofers do:

✅ Harness on
✅ Ridge replaced properly
✅ No unnecessary scaffolding
✅ Saved our client £10,000

Truth is…

A lot of roofers use scaffolding because it’s easier for THEM, not better for YOU 👀

Yes, some jobs need it.

But on jobs like this? It’s usually just making the quote look bigger 😂

For a simple ridge repair? Come on 😭

Some roofers can’t even get on a roof without adding £1k+ to the invoice first.

A lot of the time it’s not “for safety”…

It’s because they’re scared of heights or don’t actually know what they’re doing 👀

2️⃣ Slapping fresh mortar over rotten cement 🤦‍♂️
Looks good for Instagram. Falls apart 6 months later.

If the old bedding is shot, covering it up is lazy.

3️⃣ Rushing the job to get to the next quote 💸
A ridge done properly should LAST.

Not become someone else’s repair job next winter.

Good roofers repair properly. Cowboys patch & pray 🤣🤦‍♂️

“We paid another roofer £1,200 and the chimney was still leaking…” 🤦‍♂️❌

True story.

Customer called us after another roofer had already “fixed” the chimney.

His version of repointing?

❌ Smearing fresh mortar over crumbling joints
❌ Leaving loose pointing underneath
❌ In and out in an hour
❌ Leak came back after the first bit of rain 🌧️

This is the problem with cowboys…

They want the invoice paid, not the problem solved.

So we came in and did it properly:

✅ Removed all failed pointing
✅ Repointed the chimney correctly
✅ Fixed the actual issue, not just covered it up

Funny how the “cheap quote” usually ends up costing more 🙃

Strips protection off tiles and the moss usually comes straight back. NEVER JET WASH YOUR ROOF

3️⃣ “You need a whole new roof” 🏠💸
One loose ridge or slipped tile somehow becomes a full replacement quote 😭

Most roofs need maintenance, not replacing.

Good roofers repair.
Cowboys upsell.

Some jobs need it. Most don’t.
If a roofer can’t safely assess or repair a basic issue without instantly adding thousands in scaffold costs… ask yourself why.

2️⃣ Jet washing your roof? 😂🤦‍♂️
Lazy.
Fast money for the roofer. Bad for your roof.
Blasts protective coating off tiles, pushes water where it shouldn’t go and guess what? The moss usually comes back anyway.

3️⃣ “You need a whole new roof” 🏠💸
The favourite line of lazy roofers.
One slipped tile or a ridge repair suddenly becomes a £15k quote 😭

Most roofs need maintenance, not replacing.

Good roofers repair first. Cowboys replace.
