Finally celebrated my big birthday this weekend… only a few years late thanks to motherhood.

A cheeseboard was the perfect end to a lovely weekend.

Now it’s time to swap cheese and crackers for cloths and hoovers.

Project GC ❤️ – an update

Five months ago, I shared the story of my Grandma and her dream, and how her belief in me inspired both my personal journey and my business. Since then, I’ve been quietly working behind the scenes, taking my time to make sure the next steps are done properly — because Grandma taught me the value of doing things the right way, not rushing for the sake of speed. 🕊️

I’m excited to share that as part of Project GC, my business is preparing to bring in additional trained employees. 👩‍💼👩‍💼 These new team members will work in pairs on all jobs, ensuring attention to detail, oversight, and consistency in every home.

I’m also putting professional systems in place — working with HR, accountants, training providers, and a solicitor ⚖️ — so that every part of the business runs smoothly, ethically, and fairly. All employees will receive fair wages, pensions, and support, so our team is motivated to deliver the highest standards.

This careful preparation means more regular cleaning slots will become available around summer ☀️, and clients can expect nothing less than reliability, professionalism, and quality at every visit.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my journey so far. Your trust and encouragement mean the world to me, and it drives me to continue building something Grandma would be proud of. 💖

✨ A little note about “finishing touches” ✨

You might see some cleaners offering towel swans, toilet roll bows and blanket art as part of their service — and if you love that, that’s absolutely okay.

Everyone values different things in their home.

For me? My priority will always be this:

🧼 Clean skirtings
🧼 Properly sanitised surfaces
🧼 Degreased kitchens
🧼 Bathrooms that genuinely sparkle

If I have five spare minutes, I’m not folding paper…
I’m detailing edges.
I’m wiping touch points.
I’m getting into the corners that make the difference.

That doesn’t make decorative touches wrong.
They’re just not my focus.

(And yes… occasionally a little blanket bow for children sneaks in because I’m only human 😅)

But never at the expense of a proper clean.

So if you’re someone who loves the “show home” styling — there are cleaners who specialise in that.

And if you’re someone who wants a home that feels genuinely fresh, hygienic and thoroughly cleaned…

I got you 😉

As both a cleaning business owner and someone who has used cleaning services myself over the years, one thing has always stood out to me — how important trust really is.

Inviting someone into your home is personal. It requires confidence in the person and the company you’re choosing.

As I continue to grow my business, I’ve been thinking a lot about the standards I want our name to represent.

For me, it’s simple.

When time is booked, that time is honoured.
When we enter a home, we treat it with care and respect.
When we commit to a service, we deliver it properly.

And that same respect is why I don’t share photos of my clients’ homes. Their space is their space. Privacy matters.

Growth is exciting — but not at the expense of integrity.

The kind of company I’m building is one where clients feel confident, valued, and completely at ease.

And that will always matter more than anything else.
