I love sweeping a contura stove , it’s a bit like being a Rolls Royce mechanic I imagine.
As you can see at Stubby’s we relive all bricks and grate as the air vents below need a good clean out and sometimes a little copper grease.

We don’t just simply sweep a stove 🔥

We carry out an in depth sweep and maintenance visit.

We remove all fire bricks to access all air vents correctly and we clean all of the inside of the stove.

We are looking for any possible issues and checking the health of the stove.

Once swept we look at the soot to judge of the stove is being used correctly and then we fill in a report which becomes your sweep certificate 🔥

We haven’t gone to all of the trouble to be guild of master chimney sweep, heats approved, sweep safe accredited and nvq qualified just to simple use a brush !

The hobbit salamander 🔥

Our client wanted to upgrade there fire place , keeping the original features and ideally keeping cost down.

Once they saw the hobbit salamander they were sold.
A perfect size to keep the original fire place and meaning there is a minimum of remedial work to be done and this stove is fitted and ready for the seasons ahead.

Don’t be fooled by size , this stove packs a huge punch and puts a great amount of heat out as well as taking a good sized log.

Can you believe that is July done ✔️

It was a busy one with lots of sweeps and a hefty amount of installations, plenty of chimney remedial work and quite a few cowls fitted just to keep us busy 🔥

Did you see us in July ? Can you see your appliance on our reel ?

Why bonnet hoods are not suitable for live appliances 🔥

Here is a creosote tar covered one we removed and replaced with the correct cowl.

Last picture is how they should look but ultimately if you have one of these on your chimney and it’s in use you need it changed 🔥
