From May onwards I will be making an important change to my working schedule. I will be taking a couple of days off each week to spend more time with my family, which will make availability more limited. To ensure I continue delivering the same level of service, I will be extending my working hours on the days I am available.
I am often contacted for next day or same week bookings, and while I truly appreciate the demand, this is unfortunately not something I can accommodate. Especially not now. Over the past four years I have worked hard to build this business, and for much of that time it came at the expense of my personal life. I was working seven days a week, filling my days off just to meet demand, leaving very little time for family and friends.
Now, as a father, my priorities have shifted. I want to be present and involved in my son’s life as he grows up, and that time is something I simply cannot get back.
Over the last three years I have also experienced significant personal loss, having lost both of my parents to cancer. During that time I continued working without taking a break, pushing through regardless of how I felt. Looking back, that approach was not sustainable and not how life should be lived.
From May, I will be putting my family first while continuing to provide a high standard of work for all my customers. I will still be taking on jobs, including larger bookings, with Sunday and Monday being reserved for as my days off and zero chance of work being booked for these days. Business hours will continue as normal from Tuesday through to Saturday.
If you are looking at getting your vehicles booked in, please be prepared and message with plenty of notice or book in on a regular basis for the whole year to secure your days. I'm a one man army and unfortunately I can only do so much.
