One Day, Two Filters: The Dual Sand Filter Swap Out

Our team recently completed the installation of two new sand filters for one of our regular customers, ensuring their pool system continues to run at peak performance.

It was found that sand was returning to the pool — a common sign that the internal components of the existing filters were worn or damaged. After a full inspection, we confirmed that the filters were no longer operating efficiently and required replacement.

We supplied and installed two brand new sand filters, along with upgrading sections of the pipework to improve overall flow and reliability.
All works were completed efficiently during one day, minimising disruption and getting the pool back up and running as quickly as possible for our clients.

As we celebrate this three-and-a-half-decade milestone since their Grand Opening Day, we’re looking back at a journey defined by local pride and a shared commitment to their guest’s relaxation.

A secret to this 35-year success story has been the exceptional teams at Rockingham Pools and Moor Hall. We’d like to give a special mention to alumni managers Mary, Alan and Dave, as well as the current team – Matt, Paul, Jon and Shawn.

Splashing into Christmas - Merry Christmas and Thank You!

As the year draws to a close and the winter chill settles in, all of us at Rockingham Pools wanted to take a moment to share our thanks to all our clients for trusting us with your pools again this year, and to all our suppliers for the great products, hard work, and technical assistance required to bring every pool we touch to the highest possible standard!

We are taking a short break to recharge our batteries (and maybe enjoy a heated pool or two!) before we dive back into a busy 2026.

We're thrilled to share a glimpse behind on one of our exciting indoor pool builds! This photo captures a crucial stage in the construction process: tank prep. Here, our team are meticulously at work, checking every dimension to ensure the pool’s structure is perfectly aligned, ready for the next phases of construction.

Building an indoor pool is a complex undertaking - from the initial concrete shell you see taking shape, to the intricate plumbing and finishes that will transform this, every step is carefully managed. Given that this will be a stunning deck-level swimming pool, the level of accuracy is absolutely vital, so the water overflows consistently.

Reduce your Water & Carbon footprint and make your pool water sparkle!

The Midlands region has officially been declared in a state of drought following an extended period of hot, dry weather and significantly low rainfall. This declaration, made by the National Drought Group yesterday, comes after England experienced its driest start to the year since 1976 and a record-breaking hot June.

This severe water shortage has already led to hosepipe bans (officially known as Temporary Use Bans or TUBs) in various parts of the UK, including Yorkshire, Kent, Sussex, Swindon, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Wiltshire. While a drought declaration does not automatically trigger a ban, it empowers water companies in affected areas to implement restrictions if deemed necessary to conserve supplies.

With the possibility of more hosepipe bans on the horizon for the Midlands, it's crucial for everyone to play their part in conserving water. Every drop saved helps preserve our precious water resources and protect the environment. At Rockingham Pools, we believe in enjoying the benefits of a pool responsibly. That's why we're committed to sustainable solutions. To dramatically reduce water wastage and help keep more water in your pool, we're proud to install multi-element filter cartridges in all our new pool installations wherever possible.

Traditional sand filters require regular backwashing, a process that expels a significant amount of water to waste, and often this is heated water too. Multi-element filter cartridges, on the other hand, eliminate this water wastage, saving both water and the energy used to heat it. This makes them a fantastic choice for both the environment and your running costs.

It's been all hands on deck lately, and we've been busy making waves that our blog has taken a bit of a backseat sorry!

Our top priority has been getting and keeping everyone swimming, so we've been pouring all our energy into our pool builds, renovations and valet work of late.

Ah after what seems like a long winter, the sun is out today and we are opening up outdoor pools! There’s nothing quite like the feeling of dipping your toes into cool, crystal-clear water under the bright blue sky.

The pool below has an automatic safety cover, which completely seals the pool off from sunlight when not in use, thus helping dramatically reduce algae growth, meaning less chemicals are needed to open the pool up for the swimming season, making pool maintenance a breeze!
