Many people assume roof cleaning simply means blasting moss off with a pressure washer.

In reality, that's often the worst thing you can do.

Manual roof scraping to safely remove heavy moss without damaging the tiles.

A new addition to the NEREC fleet!

We've recently invested in our own tracked cherry picker to help us complete high-level work faster, more efficiently, and with even greater flexibility.

This means we can respond quicker to jobs, reduce hire costs, and keep projects moving without waiting for access equipment to become available.

It's ideal for all kinds of work at height, including:
Gutter cleaning
Roof cleaning
Cladding cleaning
High-level inspections and maintenance

The tracked design allows it to travel over rough ground and reach areas that many standard machines can't, making it perfect for everything from commercial sites to estates and construction projects.

We've also chosen a petrol-powered machine, meaning quieter operation and less disruption when working around occupied buildings, schools, and public spaces.

And it's not just for our cleaning work...

We can now provide operated cherry picker hire, supplying both the machine and a trained operator for businesses and trades carrying out work at height.

Another month, another busy one for the NEREC team!

Not a bad office for the day!

This video comes from a recent solar panel cleaning project at Edinburgh University, where our team cleaned panels across six different buildings.

Solar panels spend their lives exposed to the elements, so it's no surprise that dirt, dust, algae, bird mess, and other debris gradually build up on the surface.

The problem? The more contamination sitting on the panels, the harder it is for sunlight to reach them efficiently.

Using specialist brushes, purified water, and our water-fed pole system, we were able to safely clean the panels without harsh chemicals, leaving them clean and ready to perform at their best.

As a bonus, the views weren't too bad either!

When was the last time you checked your fire escape?

It's easy to focus on the front of a building, but access routes, stairways, and fire escapes often get overlooked.

On this job, algae had built up across an external staircase, leaving it looking green and, more importantly, creating a potential slip hazard during wet weather.

Using our pressure washing equipment, we removed the build-up and restored the stairs to a much cleaner and safer condition.

While algae might seem like a cosmetic issue, it can:
✔ Create slip hazards
✔ Hold moisture against surfaces
✔ Accelerate wear and deterioration
✔ Leave a poor impression on visitors and staff

Not quite Centre Court when we arrived... 🎾😅

Over time, this tennis court had become covered in dirt, algae, mud, and organic growth, leaving the surface looking tired and affecting how it could be used.

Our team carried out a deep clean using specialist pressure washing equipment, while industrial vacuum systems recovered the water and debris throughout the process. Once cleaned, the court was re-sanded to leave it in the best possible condition.

The difference speaks for itself 👏
