Unlike any soap dispensers, Sanalert uses the principle of persuasive design to change people's behavior in lavatories. The patented technology decodes toilet users and uses a combination of sound and light to motivate them to improve their hand-washing hygiene habits. Studies show that people behave differently when alone and unmonitored. They may know what they're supposed to do, but that doesn'

t necessarily mean they will comply. Sanalert increases compliance
The world's first intelligent soap dispenser, increases hand washing compliance by a factor of 2, thereby lowering illness significantly. A study of its kind was conducted in a Danish public school in 2012. It confirmed that hand washing compliance increased by a factor of two after the Sanalert system installed in the teacher's washroom. Advanced audiological algorithms in the motherboard decode user actions and send a signal when the toilet is flushed. The patented real time technology is then used to trigger an orchestrated combination of sound and light activity coming from the soap dispenser itself. It is set to hit the market in late fall 2015.
