En 2025, a través del programa 𝗣𝗹𝗮́𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗲́𝗻, recuperamos 𝟲𝟱 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮́𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗻𝗼 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 gracias al compromiso de ciudadanos, comercios, asociaciones, iglesia, centros educativos, que separan y entregan este material para su recolección mediante un camión eléctrico.
Este esfuerzo permitió financiar el 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗼 𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗣, implementado por la Fundación CRDC, con la participación activa de los siguientes centros educativos: Kinder España, Escuela Manuel del Pilar, Escuela Fidel Chaves, Escuela Divino Niño, Escuela San Ezequiel, Liceo Bilingüe Belén, CTP Belén, CIT y American International School.
El impacto es comunitario y tangible: personas y comercios que separan el plástico, estudiantes que aprenden haciendo y una logística de recolección limpia que conecta todo el proceso.

Hoy, después de 3 años de haber inaugurado la Planta RESIN8™ en alianza con CRDC Global , seguimos comprometidos con una construcción más sostenible y eficiente ratificando nuestro compromiso con el medio ambiente y la economía circular; es por esto que desde abril de este año todos nuestros productos se fabrican con al menos un 1% de RESIN8™, una arena sintética que transforma residuos plásticos en materia prima para la construcción.
Esta iniciativa se aplica en nuestras plantas de producción ubicadas en Belén, Esparza, San Carlos, Guápiles y Nicoya y permite reutilizar en promedio 43.700 kg de RESIN8™ al mes, evitando así la emisión estimada de 41.952 kg de CO₂ equivalente cada mes.
Nuestros productos conservan la calidad, resistencia y durabilidad que siempre han distinguido a PEDREGAL. La diferencia es que ahora también generan un impacto ambiental positivo, integrando principios de economía circular en cada bloque y adoquín.

The Center for Regenerative Design and Collaboration (CRDC) is a Costa Rican founded company that understands a proactive, collaborative and integrated approach must be taken in order to harmonise a growing population’s needs with those of the environment.
It is important that we rethink our past consumption habits and look to regenerative solutions that include the management and recovery of plastic waste. It is an unrecognised resource and part of growing a Regenerative Economy.
CRDC comprises a diverse, multidisciplinary group of world-class associates – from experts in the packaging, concrete and construction industries to conservationists, award-winning designers, and responsible investment specialists – working together to create products, industrial processes and economic models that achieve economic, social and environmental symbiosis. Balancing the needs of the environment, community and industry therefore forms the basis of all product design.
Over the last decade, CRDC has developed a series of design protocols and consumer products that are Zero Waste and regenerative in purpose and nature. Consequently, the company was a Peoples’ Choice nominee at the 2016 World Economic Forum’s Circularity Awards.
CRDC uses an unique business model: REAP, or Recover – Enrich – Appreciate – Prosper. REAP is a biomimicry model that looks to create interrelationships between diverse industries where the waste stream of one becomes the value stream for the next, where the sum of the output is greater than the sum of all the inputs, and finally where consumption becomes regenerative.
CRDC is currently collaborating globally with various industrial sectors and public entities, including some of the world's biggest brands to develop commercially viable "end of life" solutions to resolve our unmanaged plastic contamination problem.
CRDC recognizes potential synergies between our global Tragic Plastic dilemma and achieving resource efficiency in construction. Its innovative solution converts and permanently fixes plastic waste within new construction materials, which both eliminates the associated environmental impacts of plastic waste and creates a second use value stream for it.
CRDC in collaboration with PEDREGAL, a South American regional leader in the construction materials industry, has successfully created a lightweight, high-quality mixed polymer concrete aggregate or PRA that utilises "dirty" or unmanaged plastic from the waste stream. This can be recovered from industrial, commercial, domestic and environmental sources.
The process effectively sequesters the carbon in the plastic waste within the cement mix, which can then be used in a multitude of concrete products including, blocks, pipes, kerb stones, ready mix and pavers.
