1. Open door
2. Put unopened water bottle into wood stove.
3. Close door
4. Cut off all oxygen intake.

The water bottle will melt.
Water will make contact with the fire and coals and create steam which will rise into the chimney putting the fire out.

Cooler temperatures have arrived. Is your wood stove ready for autumn?

⭕️ Annual maintenance is an important step in keeping your home and family safe while burning each season.

⭕️ Remember to always burn dry, seasoned wood. Wet wood creates less heat and more creosote buildup, which could lead to a chimney fire.

⭕️ Store wood or other combustibles at least 5 feet away from the stove.

⭕️ Always keep the door shut, expect when adding wood or stoking the fire.

🔥 If a chimney fire occurs, call 911.

Hiring a chimney sweep helps protect you from avoidable dangers and saves you money, too. It will cut down your carbon monoxide risk. A clean, properly functioning chimney effortlessly carries carbon monoxide and other harmful by-products of burning fuel, including gas and wood, up and out of your home.

Remember less wood , hotter fires will keep your chimney from creating creosote.
