As we continue helping Manitobans recover from the June 9 storm, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank our incredible team.
The weeks following a major storm are always the busiest in restoration. Long days are spent responding to emergency calls, inspecting properties, writing reports, and beginning mitigation work to prevent further damage. While there is still work ahead, the most demanding phase is often at the very beginning—and our team stepped up without hesitation.
Throughout this event, our team demonstrated what our core values truly mean.
Reliability means showing up when our communities need us most. From working long hours and weekends to welcoming retired employees back to help with the response, our people answered the call.
Compassion means remembering that every claim represents a family going through one of the most stressful times in their lives. Our emergency crews worked tirelessly—often in difficult conditions, including sewer backups—to help homeowners begin the recovery process. Some of our own employees were dealing with flooding in their own homes while continuing to help others.
Integrity means doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Our team remained committed to providing honest advice, quality workmanship, and exceptional care throughout this event.
Progression means continually finding better ways to serve our customers. This storm challenged us to adapt quickly, communicate at scale, and manage an unprecedented volume of claims. The investments we've made in technology and our processes allowed us to keep pace and continue delivering the level of service our customers expect.
We also want to recognize our newest team members. Some had been with Priority for only a week before finding themselves in one of the busiest periods our industry can experience. They embraced the challenge with professionalism, resilience, and a willingness to help. It was a trial by fire, but also a true introduction to what restoration is all about—helping people through difficult times.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to our trusted trade partners, equipment suppliers, and the out-of-province crews who came to Manitoba to lend a hand. Your partnership has been instrumental in helping thousands of Manitobans begin their recovery.
To every employee and trade partner who has gone above and beyond over the past several weeks—thank you. Restoration isn't just about repairing buildings; it's about restoring lives. We couldn't be prouder of the dedication, resilience, and heart you've shown.
To our customers, thank you for your patience and understanding. The June 9 storm created an unprecedented volume of claims, and some timelines will be longer than our normal service standards.
Please know that every claim is important to us, and our team is working diligently to restore every property as quickly as possible without compromising quality or communication.
