With this weather and the wind, we have decided to close for the remainder of the day, as equipment will freeze up very quickly in there if a door got stuck open in this. We wouldn’t recommend washing in this weather anyways!

Stay safe and warm out there!

If anyone really needs in there for some reason, please give us a call at 403-634-6884 so we can let you in while watching the door!

When it’s cold (but not super windy!) do remember that we keep microfiber clothes in the dog wash area that you are free to use to dry off your door jambs / vehicle so you can get the road grime off without your doors freezing shut!

Don’t forget, you can bring your canine friends in for a wash too while you’re in to wash your vehicle! Save your tub at home (and your back) by taking care of those muddy buddies in the dog wash! 🐕🐩🐕‍🦺🦮

Shoutout to our employee of the month,
Georgia!

Despite it being her first month on the job, she hasn’t held up production too much, doesn’t mind the early mornings (despite staying up all hours of the night), and enjoys the lull of the car wash sounds. She’ll probably be able to run the place herself by the time shes in kindergarten 🤣

On a serious note, thank you to all who have congratulated us on the newest addition to our family, and for the patience when things take a little longer with this little lady in tow!

Reposting as the bugs seem extra sticky lately with this heat!

The bugs this time of year are the worst! Figured we’d share our tips for getting those stubborn insect carcasses off best!

1) Soak the grill and windshield in ‘pre-soak’ (make sure to run it a bit until you see the white coming out - it takes a little for it to run through the lines when mode is switched!)
2) Wash the SIDES and BACK of your vehicle on ‘soap’ first to give the pre-soak time to pe*****te the bugs
3) (optional) Vacuum your interior if it needs it to give the bugs even more time to soak
4) If they’ve been on there a while, use the foam brush to scrub your windshield and grill first (it is encouraged to spray out the foam brush with the pressure washer before and after use - the new foam brush bristles are much softer, but can have debris in them from the previous user)
5) Wash grill and windshield on ‘Soap’
6) ‘Rinse’ entire vehicle
7) apply ‘Wax’ to help them come off even easier at the next wash
8)Rinse with spot free rinse for a spot free shine

The bugs come off SO so much easier given a little extra time with the pre-soak sitting on them versus immediately trying to remove them.

We’re Hiring!
Big Blue Car Wash is looking for some help down at the car wash.

The position will be best suited to someone who lives right in Vulcan, and is normally home all day. Perfect for someone recently retired but still spry who wants to keep busy while making some extra income, or for someone who has a flexible work-from-home job wanting to boost their monthly income.

Duties are mainly going down every 2-3 hours throughout the day to rinse out the bays and some other minor cleaning such as emptying garbages and wiping down hoses, while doing a quick visual check for any leaks or anything that requires attention. It is usually 2 hours or less of work per day total (occasionally more on very muddy/busy days). Use of a smart phone will be necessary to monitor things via the security camera app.

It would be a bonus if this person was mechanically inclined and knew some basic plumbing, but absolutely not necessary. Being able to handle the fire hoses and occasionally lifting/pushing 20-50lbs is required, having a keen eye for detail is desired. Reliability and strong communication skills are a must.

We are open to someone coming in anywhere from 3-5 days per week. Must be available for at least every other Sat&Sun, preferably most weekends.
