If you see these Japanese Beetles in your garden, please report them!

They have been spotted in West Kamloops and Vancouver, and even though it's a long way for a beetle to fly, they a commonly spread by people transporting them from place to place.

With coordinated efforts the number of detected Japanese beetles in Vancouver fell from over 8000 in 2018 to just three in 2025.

Identifying features of adult Japanese beetle:
Oval shape when looked at from above
Approx. 10 mm long and 6 mm wide
Head and thorax are metallic green
Wing coverings are metallic copper-brown
White tufts of hair along the sides and rear of the abdomen
