If you've been wondering where the sun ran off to, you're not alone.
And we'll be honest with you, this year is proving to be something of a challenge. For a company like ours, right here in Two Hills, that relies on at least a few dry days to get the work done, this season has been something else. The amount of rescheduling we've had to do has been, well, incredible.
And the numbers tell the story. That long stretch of rain at the end of May soaked the whole region. Just up the road, Vegreville picked up 109 mm and Lavoy 113 mm in about four days. To put that in perspective, our corner of the province normally sees somewhere around 70 to 90 mm for the entire month of June. So the County got more than a month's worth of rain in a matter of days, on top of an already soggy start to the season. Anyone farming around Two Hills, St. Paul, Vegreville or Mundare knows exactly what we're talking about.
But we're not ones to sit around and complain (much). Despite it all, we're out there doing what we can, from installs and ground work, to demolition jobs, and yes, the occasional adventure of pulling our own equipment out of the mud.
