At over $1100 for a new set of Sta-Rite S8 cartridge filter elements, this customer opted to get a one hour powerwash service to prolong the life of the filters and get his water flow back going.
As many people open their pools to green murky water, they might be vacuuming up that algae into their filters. They may have also just applied Phosfree to eliminate high phosphate levels.
Please be aware that heaters and salt water chlorine generators both operate with a water flow switch.
No water flow getting past your filter means no heat and no sanitation.

All pool heaters and salt water chlorinators are equipped with a flow switch.
When the flow of water is obstructed from dirty cartridge filter elements, they will fail to operate.
