The ideal time to have your septic tank pumped is every 3-5 years depending on the size/age of the tank and how many people live at the home. But here are a few other things that could indicate that it is time for a pump!

1. Slow draining toilets/sinks. 🚽🚿
2. Bad smell/pooling water in the yard.
3. Thick, long, green grass over weeping tile. 🌱
4. Back ups in house.

One key to a healthy septic system is to minimize water use! 💧

Fix leaky sinks and toilets.
Use water efficient appliances.
Reduce running water times. (shower time, brushing teeth, rinsing food)
Do not use your toilet or sink as a garbage can!
