🚨PSA: Only YOU can prevent clogs🚨

This, unfortunately, is not an uncommon problem. But it IS a very preventable problem.

The issue? Paper towels.

Unlike toilet paper, paper towels are designed to stay strong when wet. That makes them great for cleaning up spills… but it makes them terrible for sewer pipes.

If it isn’t toilet paper, it shouldn’t go in your toilet.

A few paper towels may not seem like a big deal, but, over time, they can catch on rough spots, collect grease and turn into a costly blockage.

Remember: Toilet paper only. Everything else goes in the garbage.

Tree roots are one of the most common causes of sewer line damage. Over time, roots can work their way into small openings in a pipe and continue expanding, eventually leading to blockages, breaks and recurring sewer issues.

👇 5 Things You Need to Know to Avoid a Sewer Backup

1. đźšż Slow drains are an early warning sign
If your sink, shower or toilet is draining slowly or gurgling, your sewer may already be starting to clog. It doesn’t fix itself. It builds until it backs up.

2. 🧻 “Flushable” wipes & feminine hygiene products don’t break down
Wipes (even the ones labeled “flushable”) and hygiene products don’t dissolve like toilet paper. They catch on debris and create blockages fast. We pull these out all the time. And never, NEVER flush condoms.

3. 🛢️Grease builds up over time
Pouring grease down the drain once might not cause an issue… but it doesn’t go away. It sticks to your pipes and builds up, layer by layer, until it eventually blocks the line. You’re much better off throwing some corn starch in it, letting it cool and tossing it in the garbage.

4. 🌳 Tree roots will find your sewer line
The bigger and more established the tree, the farther the roots reach… And your sewer line is the path of least resistance. If roots have gotten into your line once, they will come back. Unless the pipe is fully replaced, you’ll likely need regular (often annual) maintenance.

5. đź“ş An ounce of prevention is significantly less costly than a pound of cure
Cracks, build up and root intrusions progress over time. A camera inspection can catch issues early, before they turn into a full backup. A camera inspection every few years can save you a lot of hassle.
