Leave a quilted heart and touch a soul....

In 2023, I thru-hiked hiked the Appalachian Trail. When I stopped in Kent to use the laundromat and the Welcome Center shower, I noticed a quilt heart on a bush outside the Welcome Center.
Prior to hiking the AT, I lost both of my parents and a dear friend within 13 months. Finding the quilt heart felt like a sign from my mom, who was an avid quilter. I carried it with me for the rest of the trail, and the quilt heart is now an ornament on my Christmas tree.
I am sorry it took me two years to let you know about this particular heart. Thank you so much for placing it and for making my heart glad.

What a great memory and a small world. Lorraine Hainsworth shared this memory with me today. I thought I met Lorraine in Yuma area last winter when in fact she had visited my store 7 years earlier. And the icing on the cake is one of those masked bandits on the steam train was likely my eldest child. The connections we make in this crazy world!
