Hi everyone! 👋🏼 If you’re new to my page, I thought it was finally time to properly introduce myself and share a little bit about the person behind Maid in the Prairies again!

My name is Madison Wihlidal and I’m the owner and the face behind this little business, which means I’m the one behind pretty much everything — answering messages, scheduling clients, keeping track of supplies, coming up with new ideas, managing the behind-the-scenes, and of course, doing the actual cleaning. 😂 There’s a lot that goes into running a small business that people don’t always get to see, but I truly wouldn’t have it any other way.

Maid in the Prairies started with a simple idea: I needed something to do until i could get a job in the field that i had gone to school for, so i decided to build something of my own that I could be proud of. Something where I could work hard, create something meaningful, build genuine relationships with people, and provide a service that actually makes a difference in someone’s day-to-day life.

Over time, it has become so much more than just cleaning houses. 🤎

For me, cleaning is about care. It’s about walking into someone’s home and knowing that maybe they’ve had a busy week, they’re working long hours, raising a family, dealing with a million things at once, or simply don’t have the time or energy to keep up with everything. Being able to take even a little bit of that off someone’s plate is something I genuinely love.

I’ve always been someone who pays attention to the little things. I like things done properly, I notice details, and I take a lot of pride in the work I do. One of the biggest compliments I’ve received from clients is hearing that they can actually feel a difference when they come home after I’ve cleaned. That means more to me than people probably realize. I want my clients to feel like their home has truly been cared for. ✨

And when I’m not busy with Maid in the Prairies, life is pretty busy in its own way! 😂 I’m also building a life with my family on our little piece of the prairies. We have our acreage, our animals, our farm dreams, and usually a project or two happening somewhere. Between everyday life, farm projects, animals, home life, and running a business, there is never really a dull moment around here. 🐑🌾🐾

Our animals have become such a big part of our family, and anyone who knows me knows they are definitely spoiled. 😂🤎 From our big fluffy farm protectors Benny and Cooper, to our cats, sheep, and all of the other little personalities that make life on the acreage what it is, they are a huge part of our everyday lives.

I think living this kind of life has also shaped the way I approach my business. I understand how quickly life gets messy. I understand how easy it is for the laundry to pile up, the floors to get dirty, the kitchen to need attention, and the never-ending to-do list to feel overwhelming.

Life is busy. Homes are lived in. And that’s okay. 🤎

That’s one of the reasons I love what I do so much.

One of the things I’m most excited about is seeing where Maid in the Prairies can go from here. What started as me simply cleaning homes has grown into something that I’m incredibly proud of, and I’m excited about all of the possibilities that are ahead.

I have so many ideas for this business and so many things I would love to bring to my clients in the future. I’m excited about continuing to grow, creating new services and products that make everyday life a little easier, bringing new ideas to the table.

I don’t want Maid in the Prairies to just be another cleaning company. I want it to be a business that people know, trust, and feel good about supporting.

I want my clients to know that when they invite Maid in the Prairies into their home, they’re not just hiring someone to clean. They’re supporting a small local business, a family, and a dream that has been built one home, one client, and one day at a time. 🤎

And I’m genuinely so excited to see what the future holds. I know I’m still at the beginning of what this business can become, and there is so much more I want to learn, improve, create, and accomplish. I’m excited for the growth, the challenges, the new opportunities, and all of the little milestones along the way.

To everyone who has supported me — whether you’ve been a client since the beginning, recently found my page, recommended me to a friend, shared a post, left a review, sent someone my way, or simply followed along — thank you. 🫶🏼

Small businesses are built because people choose to support them, and every booking, referral, kind message, review, and bit of encouragement has helped me get to where I am today. Sometimes I look back at where this started compared to where it is now, and I’m incredibly proud.

There is still so much ahead, but I’m really enjoying the journey and I’m so grateful that I get to build something that is mine while also building the life and future that my family and I dream about. 🤎

So, if you’re new here… welcome to Maid in the Prairies! 🌾 I’m so happy you’re here, and I hope you’ll stick around to watch this little business continue to grow. You’ll see plenty of cleaning, behind-the-scenes moments, farm life, animals, home projects, new ideas, and probably a little bit of chaos mixed in along the way. 😂

But most importantly, you’ll see a small business being built with a lot of hard work, a lot of heart, and a genuine love for what I do.

Here’s to the next chapter of Maid in the Prairies and everything that’s still to come. 🤎🌾

I have a question for you… 👀🧼

If you’ve ever hired a cleaner, what made you think:

“Wow, they actually do things differently.”

Was it the attention to detail?
The little things they noticed that you didn’t?
How fresh your home felt afterward?
Their consistency?
Their communication?
Or simply knowing that you could trust them to take care of your home?

I’ve had several clients recently tell me they notice a difference in my cleaning compared to other services they’ve used, and it got me thinking about what those differences actually mean from a client’s perspective.

So I’d genuinely love to know:

What do YOU appreciate most about a cleaning service?

Drop your answer below. 👇
I’m listening — and always looking for ways to make my service even better. 🤍

IT’S OKAY TO ASK FOR HELP

Somewhere along the way, many of us started believing that asking for help meant we weren’t doing enough.

We tell ourselves…

“I should be able to keep up.”

“I’ll clean once I catch up.”

“I just need one free weekend.”

But somehow, that free weekend never comes.

Life keeps moving.

The laundry keeps piling up.

The dishes somehow multiply overnight.

The floors need another sweep.

The list never really gets shorter.

Here’s something I hope you hear today:

You don’t have to do everything by yourself.

Asking for help doesn’t mean you’ve failed.

It means you recognize that your time, your energy, and your peace matter too.

Sometimes the strongest thing we can do is admit we don’t have to carry it all alone. 🤍

Sometimes the mess isn’t about cleaning.

Sometimes it’s about life.

Behind a pile of laundry might be parents who haven’t stopped all week.

Behind the dishes might be someone who’s been working overtime.

Behind the clutter might be a family adjusting to a new baby.

Behind the dusty shelves might be someone quietly struggling with stress, anxiety, or burnout.

Sometimes people carry so much that cleaning ends up at the bottom of the list.

And that’s okay.

A messy home doesn’t tell me who you are.

It doesn’t tell me how hard you’ve worked.

It doesn’t tell me how much you love your family.

It certainly doesn’t determine your worth.

Your home is supposed to be lived in.

It’s where birthday candles are blown out.

Where movie nights happen.

Where muddy boots get kicked off.

Where kids build blanket forts.

Where dogs run through the house after playing outside.

Life leaves evidence.

That’s something to be proud of—not ashamed of.

If I can help lighten your load, even just a little, then I’m happy to do it.

Because sometimes what people really need isn’t just a clean house.

They need someone who understands that life gets messy… and that’s perfectly okay. 🤍

One thing I wish more people believed…

Hiring a cleaner does NOT mean you’re lazy.

In fact, it’s usually the complete opposite.

The families I clean are some of the hardest-working people I’ve ever met.

They’re working full-time jobs.

They’re raising kids.

They’re juggling school pickups, sports, dance, hockey, birthdays, appointments, grocery shopping, cooking, laundry, and trying to remember a hundred little things every single day.

Some are running businesses.

Some are caring for aging parents.

Some are farming from sunrise until long after sunset.

Some are simply trying to survive a season of life that feels overwhelming.

By the end of the day, they’re exhausted.

And then they look around the house and feel guilty because they don’t have the energy to scrub bathrooms or mop floors.

Can I tell you something?

You were never meant to do everything by yourself.

There are only so many hours in a day.

If hiring someone to clean your home means you get to spend your Saturday making memories with your kids instead of cleaning toilets…

That’s a win.

If it means you finally get an evening to relax instead of vacuuming after work…

That’s a win.

If it helps your mental load feel just a little lighter…

That’s a win too.

Asking for help isn’t weakness.

Sometimes it’s one of the best investments you can make—for yourself and for your family.

You deserve to enjoy your home, not constantly feel behind in it. 🤍
