I aim to remove 95%-99% of moss from every roof before spraying a hydrogen peroxide solution. However sometimes when moss becomes deeply embedded in a roof it’s best to only remove what comes off in the first couple passes and doubling up on solution application.

The reason for this is to prevent shingle and roof damage. It’s safer for the solution to first lift and kill the moss from the shingles rather than mechanically lifting it. In this situation I always recommend a second follow up visit to make sure your roof is healthy and protected
