Whether you are struggling with depression, have a new baby, or just have a chaotic life, the concept of cleaning and decluttering can seem like an overwhelming task that is simply outside of your reach right now.
Alot of people juggle with whether or not cleaning should be a priority. But, knowing that having a cleaner environment will help improve your mood and make your life more peaceful, it might be worth pursuing.
Here are some ideas on how to incorporate cleaning into your life.
Start small: I go by the 1 minute rule! If its going to take a minute than take the minute and do it. Changing the garbage bag, picking up those toys, sweeping the kitchen etc...
Set a timer ⏲️: For example, set aside 15, 20, or even 30 minutes to clean, set a timer, and then start in the primary living area of your home. Start by picking up things that are lying on the floor or on the coffee table and put them away. When the timer goes off, you are done for the day! Then do it again tomorrow.
Involve others: get the kids up and helping smaller children will be eager to help mom & dad. While the older children can have set chores ****THE EARLIER THE BETTER, teach them cleanliness is important, and its their home to take care of too!****
Ask friends & family for help: whether its to watch the kids or actually helping around the house, don't be afraid to ask them to help around the home. I know when I go to my friends place I ask them what I can do or see something & do it ***real friends do your dishes***
Get outside help: if it fits the budget ask someone like me to step in and make it easier on you. Currently cleaning for someone every Tuesday for 2 hours and it helps me while helping them!!
If cleaning and decluttering helps ease your stress, reduces your anxiety, and lifts your mood, then by all means grab your cleaning tools and get started. For the ones who sees cleaning as a stresser trying a few of these ideas might help you find some relaxation in cleaning!! Or you can hire me! I got you!
