Why I like using white vinegar and uses
White vinegar can be an amazing resource in your home. Where it is not prefect. It should advoid natural stone: marble/granite/quatz, waxed hardwood and test patches are always advised. It can be a great solution for multiple problems within your home. Here are some of the ways I like to use it in my home and cleaning of others.
1) Soap scum and hard water staining:
With mixing 1 part vinegar and 1 part dawn dish soap you can make a power house cleaner that can cut thru stuck on hard water staining and soap scum. Great for showers and taps
2) Glass cleaner:
Use equal parts vinegar and water. It can make your glass shine for a far less chemicals then your normal store bought cleaners.
3) Pet care cleaning:
I hate with a passion using chemicals around my pets for cleaning of their items. Where I may not start with this product depending on the mess, I will end with it. One part water to one part vinegar. This solution can help cut thru left over residue from another cleaner, is a mild disinfectant, and deodorant. It is a great way to make sure your not leaving harmful chemicals behind. I use this from my reptiles cages, to wiping down my dogs and cats kennels.
4) Freshen Laundry:
Add a splash of white vinegar for cleaning to your laundry to remove odours and soften fabrics. Revive whites and brights. 1/2 cup is all that's needed in your wash. It can also be an excellent spot stain treatment on its own with water or add baking soda for an added kick on a spot treatment.
5) brushes and combs:
Soak brushes and combs in vinegar to help remove residue stuck in them
6) Eliminate Fruit Flies:
Set out a small bowl of white vinegar to attract and trap fruit flies.
7) Clean Dishwasher:
Run an empty dishwasher cycle with white vinegar for cleaning to eliminate buildup and odours
8)Descale Your Coffee Maker:
Run equal parts water and vinegar thru the coffee maker and don't forget to rinse.
9) Remove stickers and labels:
Just soak it in white vinegar for easy removal
10) Showerhead Cleaner:
Vinegar is effective for removing hard water deposits and stains from showerheads To clean your showerhead with vinegar, Fill a plastic bag with vinegar and secure it around your showerhead with a rubber band. Leave it for several hours to remove mineral deposits and improve water flow.
White Vinegar can be expanded to many other uses. Theses are just some examples. It should be noted not to mix vinegar with items it shouldn't be like bleach, hydrogen peroxide, and ammonia as it can make chlorine gas.
