When these customers first reached out, I thought they were a little crazy.

They told me their backyard was small and asked if I could come take a look to see what might fit. After measuring everything out, we were able to come up with a pool that worked within the space and still met the city requirements.

There wasn’t much room to work with. We had limited access from the alley, a power line to work around, and just over 30 inches on either side of the pool. We made it work and the finished pool turned out nicely.

Check out the earlier parts of the tiny pool series for more on this project.

This is a common question we’ve gotten on our Tiny Pool build, which is the second-smallest pool we’ve ever built. Thanks to for asking on our Instagram story the other day, along with a few others on Facebook.

There were two main requirements we had to meet. The first was having at least 30 inches of concrete deck around the entire pool. We ended up with 33 inches.

The second was the electrical meter. It had to be relocated at least 1.5 metres away from the pool. It’s now more than 1.5 metres away and on the other side of the fence, so it meets both the city and electrical requirements.

We’re based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and this pool meets the requirements where we operate.

Always check your local bylaws and electrical requirements before building anything, and make sure you have the permits you need.

This time lapse shows the concrete pool deck being poured around the pool last week.

We built this pool last summer as part of a new home build. You might recognize it from the drone shots I shared recently.

We posted some progress on this project last year, but at that point the landscaping and the rest of the yard weren’t finished yet. It’s always nice to come back and see everything completed. The whole space turned out really nice.

Our job doesn’t end once the pool is built. We’re still here to help with taking care of it, answer questions, and make pool ownership as straightforward as possible.

Thanks to the homeowners for the kind words. Stay tuned for more videos on this finished pool build.

Built pools for next door neighbours last summer out in River Heights. Stopped by today to get some drone shots of the “AFTER.” Both yards are looking beautiful and it’s great to see the families enjoying their first full summer having a pool.

Build the best. Service the rest.

Part 3 on the tiny pool: pouring the footing for the pool walls.

We only have about 30 inches of space on either side of the pool, so there wasn’t enough room to pour concrete around it like we normally would. So we built scaffolding over the pool so we could wheel the concrete across, dump it into the overdig, and fill the Sonotubes.

A lot of this pool will be built by working over top of it because of how tight the yard is.

Dig day, part 2, on the tiny pool.

Once we had the shelf dug (see part 1), it was time to dig the deep end. We started with the mini excavator and dug out as much as we could. Then, we dug the rest by hand.

Dig day on the tiny pool. This one is 7 ft 6 in wide by 21 ft long, making it the second-smallest pool we’ve ever built.

In this video, we’re digging the shelf and ramping into the yard from the alley. There’s a power line limiting how far back we could start the ramp, so access is a little tighter than usual.

Once we get down to shelf height, we’ll mark out the hopper and start digging the deep end.

A finished pool project from a few years ago out in Nutana, Saskatoon. Beautiful yard, a great pool setup, and a waterfront view that’s hard to beat.

Last week we were shingling the pool house at the Hastings Project. It’s a 13.5 x 8 ft pool house, with a bathroom on one side and the pool mechanical on the other.

We got the shingles on and later worked on the soffit fascia. After that, we’re waiting for the siding and doors to show up.

In the meantime, the electrician can get going on wiring the panel and running the feed, and the plumber can start connecting the gas. Now that the building is in place, things can start rolling.

The best way to reach us for a quote is via email or by sending us a message on social media.

Include your email address and, if you already have an idea of the pool size or style you’re looking for, send that along too. If you’re not sure yet, we have general pricing for four common pool sizes that can give you a starting point.

Sometimes the most important first step is just getting an idea of the cost, seeing if it fits within your budget, and then deciding where to go from there.

If you’d like to move forward, the next step is an onsite visit, then getting the utility lines marked, seeing what size pool will fit in your yard, and planning out the project.

We’re currently booking pool installations into next year, so send us an email or message if you’d like to start the conversation.
