I’m trying to raise $459, I currently have $1060.12.
I am out of insurance in Nanaimo. The risk is having my SUV impounded and/or having my dog taken away from me.
My credit is good with some of you and not so good with others but I’m alone out here and I really hoping everybody I know can pull together and help me pay my fines with ICBC so I can ensure my car.
ICBC will give me another opportunity to finance and I definitely won’t miss this one up because it’s my last opportunity to finance. They have given me three opportunities already. I’m on my fourth finance mistake.
I still haven’t had a chance to do my taxes because I haven’t been in a place long enough to use the address, but I’m going to call the CRA today and talk to them about the address thing because I do not have one and I do not foresee me having one.
If all/some of my chums could help my dog and I out, I’d be so very grateful.
I could just promise I won’t fu***ng put myself in this situation again .
Considering it’s only safe place we have to live you’d think I’d be on this what the f**k

Greetings Beauties & Beasts!

I'm currently offering *complimentary* cleaning slots to families affected by the "strike" a.k.a. blatant cahooting of the Federal/Provincial Governments, WFP and the IWA with foreign interests in mind. I just read that another forestry company (starts with an 'm'... Edit: it's Mosaic) is about to get away with it too. A class action lawsuit, employees vs all those snakes, is needed. It's called the LABOUR FORCE.

Aaaaaaanyhoooo... Why am I offering time?
Because that's all I have to offer and I want to. I am also donating 50% of my art sales (Loo-da-Kris Designs) to Loonies for Loggers, although I currently only have one piece ready for sale as it is impossible to create without a stable, sound environment in which to live.

"Our prime purpose in this life is to help others...."

While you're all blessed to have family, I'm blessed to not have one to fret about. While you're all blessed to have a roof over your heads, I'm blessed that I currently don't have my own place to call home, rent or a mortgage on default or a fear of where my kids and I will live. I don't care if I live outside, so long as it's joyful. And I've no kids, that will remain current forever. While you're blessed to fire up your vehicle to get around, I'm blessed that I currently don't have to fret vehicle insurance, maintenance and fuel. While you're blessed to own household comforts, a bed, etc... I feel pretty damn lucky that I've lost every single thing I ever owned over the past 3 years and currently only care about my guitar and my art making stuffs (sea glass, driftwood, weird rusty stuff, rocks, trash). The double-edged swords of this thing called life.

I've been off my feet for a long while going through a powerful personal metamorphosis; a complete life, habit, perspective and emotional shift. These 3 years are the biggest gift the Universe could've forced onto me. Having already turned to goo in my cocoon, my wings are forming and the metamorphosis is near completion... I am coming out of this as one badass, resilient, benevolent butterfly.

At this point in my life, I would get far more out of giving my time to those who could use a nice treat while being shafted by those snakes listed above. When I say I'm building from nothing, that's exactly what I mean. I landed in Port Hardy via a past cleaning client that moved here (I have a local reference who will ensure you my fingers are omit sticky if I'm rolling a joint...haha!) and it has been the most joyful town I've been in over the past 3 years. I truly love it here. I'm grateful I've landed somewhere where many of the peeps in the community noticed my guitar and I were gone for a couple of weeks and missed me. I've much to give and this is just the start.

I have already contacted North & South Vancouver Island Communities United via FB messenger and presented my donation of time, but I've yet to hear much back, which I understand.... Time is an awkward donation these days, especially when it has zero attachment to any fundraising.

Think about that.

Time is an awkward donation without attachment to fundraising.

Surely there is some ill-willed motive behind it:
1.) I'll steal your stuff.
2.) I expect a tip.
3.) I'll do a half-assed job because it's "free".
4.) I'm doing it to boast/be a hero/blahhhh blahhhhhh

1.) Trust and transparency have ALWAYS been the foundation of this venture. It's how I secured long-term, estate property clients in Vancouver over the course of 3 years. Jewellery, money, drugs, make-up, bits n bites, inside your safe, I'll dust under it all and replace all as it was, except .... without dust. I'm a known finder of things long lost because I am so detailed and thorough. I have to be all in your stuff to be a good cleaner. I'll eventually know everything that's in your home because I will inevitably clean every nook and cranny without hesitation. If it needs it, it's getting it.
2.) I could probably use some life tips from an adult considering my folks aren't in the flesh anymore and I've clearly lost my adulting skills.
3.) "There's no such thing as good enough, it's either good, or not good." -My Dad, Ken Steffen. I'm highly detailed based on my self-diagnosed OCD, and have a ton of energy and elbow grease to burn. I do not screw the pooch, ever.
4.) PM's are private, you'll never hear about how I "cleaned for free", aside from this post specifically, which will be shared here, in my art making page of Loo-da-Kris Designs, and in 1 or 2 other local Facebook groups. It's no one's business whom I give time to, for how long, or what I do. I'm insanely confidential. I do not gossip. Your home, stuff, life style, pets, kids, property, as a client, will be fiercely protected by me. That's loyalty. I know it's nice of me to do this, I don't want likes, or comments, or anything. Zero praise, all of this is what it is. No one ever gave personal praise after a good 'ol fashioned barn raising. They just connected together and raised the barn. Cut and dried. It's what my mind and heart are telling me to do. Some years no one has a barn to replace, others years one or more; the connection remained the same. For all I know, no one wants any of this, but should they, the connection is here.

If I *give* my time via Happy Happy Camper Cleaning Services, I help myself by building reputation in the community as well as a stronger sense of community in general. I also help 1-2 other adults and who knows how many kidlets. And kids freakin' LOVE me. They catch my simple, real and joyful drift.
Lift one person or lift 4-5?
Who knows, maybe this connection will get me into my own perfect forever home in Port Hardy! 👌

I will not starve or go without by giving time rather than charging for it; the more I give the more I receive. Port Hardy has been so fun, supportive and generous anytime I'm brave enough to play and sing in public (Rocket Maaaaaaaaaaaaan!). I had very little courage to do so before I moved here. Besides, I need very little to lead a joyful life. Coffee. Snacks (all of them). W**d. The particular order is situational.

Happy Camper Cleaning Services offers a plethora of services that apply to both gifted and purchased time:

*Detailed housecleaning which can include one or all of the following tasks: deep cleaning, appliances inside out and under, bathroom, laundry wash dry fold iron hang, bedding wash dry make bed, baseboards, drier hose, dusting, cupboards inside outside on top and doors, hand scrubbed floors, streak-free windows inside and out ... etc. I see everything, including potential maintenance issues and am capable of completing many household maintenance tasks and building things using power tools... Arg arg arg!

*Organizing: I can organize anything in any space and put systems in place so you can keep it that way without any fuss. I love organizing other people's stuff.

*Landscaping/Yard Work: Love it. I'm a good grunt with a very green thumb and pruning knowledge/experience.

*Kidlets: My favorite clients have kids. They just get me and they listen and they're always super interested in me and what I'm up to. Any children of any age are always welcome around me. I have ENDLESS patience for children. I've live-in nannied (I'd love to again) for a couple families and have no qualms keeping kidlets entertained while I so my work, or including them in yard work or prep-cooking in the kitchen. Maybe you want to go shopping without them and get away during the day for a few hours. I'd be happy to hang with them at a park or the beach. Or maybe your spouse want to go out for dinner, or even breakfast, but can't justify paying to go out and pay for kidlet sitter. Well, you don't have to.

*Vehicle Cleaning: This is pretty self explanatory.

*Firewood Assistance: chop chop.

*Companionship: Loneliness is a very real thing that can be detrimental to the mental and physical health of people of all ages. Time, unfortunately, is a hard thing for many people to give loved ones (friends or family) as much as they'd love to be able to. I'm quite the card and get along with everyone, but older people specifically share my old school values and moral standards, so I tend to relate with them easier. I can play cribbage, guitar and would be willing to learn Bridge for funsies.

I have zero specifications how my clients use their time, complimentary or not. The gift of time is highly flexible. Every household has a different idea of what would lighten the load, please don't be shy. I have truly seen it all as a housekeeper and do not judge or whince at anything. Your confidentiality and comfort are key. Forgit about it! I got it.

I can comfortably give 15 hours of my time per week, maybe more. I do not want to put a cap on how many hours total because the amount of families affected is endless. I say 15 hours because then I can do five, 3 hour slots per week +. I only ask you provide transportation if it's too far for me to walk and the supplies I need to clean, which is basically a scrubby sponge and paper towel. Elbow grease does most of the work anyway.

I will do my absolute best to be reliable, but do keep in mind I currently have no home to call my own and my living arrangements are far from stable and sound. You will not be disappointed assuming I've no disruptions.

If you are or know of a "strike" affected family that would love the gift of time, please do not hesitate to PM me here, or on my Facebook profile, Laura Steffen and I can provide my cell so we can have a chat on the phone.

I am also in the market for regular weekly clients whom I invoice monthly (one payment on the last day of the month for all hours worked that month) that require a housekeeper to manage the cleanliness and order of their home as a whole, rotating larger tasks in and out of the weekly schedule as required. It is imperative we vibe comfortably on a personal level, that we're a good 'fit' so to speak, as housekeeping is an intimate, personal position where both the client and the cleaner should feel absolutely comfortable with one another... and that starts with that 'fit'. When I first started Happy Camper Cleaning Services, I'd housekeep for people without that 'fit', and I tell ya, there's nothing more awkward than housekeeping for someone you just don't vibe with. My general rate is and always will be $20/ hour. The elderly $15/hour plus a complimentary half hour each booking. The client provides the supplies to inhibit cross contamination. And some people like using lemons, others like bleach. The cleaners are the discretion of the client, but I absolutely require paper towel and a scrubby sponge. No exceptions. Without those two provisions, I cannot activate my detailed eye and produce elbow grease. True story.

"Strike" peeps! Please! Don't be shy! You deserve the gift of time, after all it is being robbed from you.

In SOLIDARITY!!!!!!!

Greetings Beauties and Beasts!
I've officially decided to land back in Vancouver and am in the process of finding my forever home.
I'm still a very detailed housekeeper with no hair or spot being left behind.
I'm still the Queen of organizing... anything. I follow the golden rule that there is a place for everything and everything should be in its place, so I'll set up systems you can maintain which will spare me from organizing for you with every visit.
I still do it all... what is it all? Inside and out, I'm a good gal to have around the home. Landscaping, gardening, painting, pruning, grunt work (I'm freakishly strong for my wee size), tiling, grout, the list goes on.
Plus, I offer prep cooking, meal preparation, high end gathering wine and cocktail service, kiddie watching (kids love me), and I'll even take your Gramps or Granny to the park or for tea.
Still welcoming, still non-judgmental (don't worry about it, I've seen it all), still friendly, still hardworking.
I've tried to update this page with my location but it's trying to give me grief, and I do not accept.
That said, you're welcome to contact me via messenger on here although a good old fashioned phone call on my cell is preferred.

Best regards!

Greetings Beauties & Beasts!

In my classic open, honest and personal form (it is a very personal business after all) I'd love to reflect with you in honour of a new calendar year.

2016 & 2017 were the most challenging years of my extraordinary life. With challenge and loss come insight and growth; in retrospect, I wouldn't change a thing. Since my furry bestie of 15 years passed away 2 years ago (Jan.4.2016) I've been on a deep journey of internal and spiritual growth that put life as I knew it on hold. Only the loss of Mac could've sparked such a journey and I know these past 2 years have also been the most important of my life so far.

"If you're going through hell, keep going."

This journey has landed me in beautiful Parksville B.C., a place where they joke you won't make it out alive, but I feel like I can live while I'm here. By the grace of the Universe I awoke here New Year's Day, and that feeling was the most settling feeling I've had in 2 years. I feel hopeful here.

I'm confident my array of diverse services will be welcomed in the community. I'm looking forward to building trust with all of y'all living oceanside, to achieving my dream of starting 2 not for profit charities, one for humans, the other for pets, to entertaining you with song on one of my guitar adventure outings and to having the love of my life arrive and sweep me off my feet 💜

So, Happy New Year Parksville!! Thanks for having me (though you didn't have a choice, hehe). I'm starting from zero, rock bottom, scratch. I hope you enjoy watching and helping me build with the community so I can provide the same hope for others through the programs I create.

~Guinea Pig Incentive~
New clients in a community where I have not yet established trust take big risk and in taking that risk I think you deserve a break. My general rate is $20/hr with a 3 hour minimum. Those willing to take a chance will be given a complimentary hour on their first booking with a reduced rate to $15/hour (3hr minimum still applies) as well as a complimentary hour on their second booking. Referrals that turn out to be a good fit will fetch you $5 off your next booking. B

~What Do I Do? ~
EVERYTHING.
Cooking, prep-cooking, highly detailed cleaning, organizing (highly talented organizer), de-cluttering for kids and adults, laundry, ironing, gardening, landscaping, light renos, entertaining kiddies (I have energy to burn), packing, grunt work or even simple companionship for those with seniority and so much more. Just ask!

Feel free to message me here or call me at 250-730-2180.

Sincerely,

Laura Marie Steffen

~If You Want To Be Trusted, Be Honest~

Greetings Beauties and Beasts!!

Its been exactly a year since I officially moved to PA. A year being caught/stuck/stranded in a nasty, controlling, sabotaging relationship. A year with my entire awesome, loving life on hold. So there are a few things I want to discuss...

There are a couplefew prospective clients I want to reach out and apologize to that booked me when I was trying to start up before Christmas and earlier this year while I was still stuck in the nastiness mentioned above. One of you even got me on a good day (as good as could've been) and had me come once. If you beauties see this, I am sorry. I couldn't have been reliable if my life depended on it and my ex made sure of it. I mean, if I made my own money, then I wouldn't need him, and how could he control me then? I'm offering you a complimentary 2 hours to give me another chance now that I'm completely free from that abuse. You all seemed like we would be a great match and I hated letting you down, but I had no power to control anything in my life. Please accept my sincere apology, if not my offer.

Ok! I built this business in Vancouver for 3 years on a solid foundation of trust. From homes in East Van to mansions in Shaugnessy, my clients knew what I was there for: work. My motto for Happy Camper Cleaning Services is "I want your business, not your stuff." I couldn't have gone almost 4 years cleaning AND taking people's stuff. It truly is a VERY small world and my reputation is something I take great pride in. Even more important, my character, and who I am as a person, means the most to me. I live a karmically sound life. I go out of my way to do good for all walks of life and I would never ever jeopardize the miracles and blessings karma brings my way for living karmically sound. This business is extremely personal in so many ways, from keeping confidentiality to private things in your home to being a positive influence around your kiddies and family, we have to trust one another.

What I Do:
Everything! Cleaning, organizing (I can walk into a space I've never seen and put systems in place to help you keep it organized with ease), landscaping, painting, light home reno and fix it stuff (I'm a carpenters daughter), prep-cooking, cooking cooking, nannying (I've tons of experience with kiddies, they love me, I'm the kid whisperer, except I dont whisper to them, we talk), senior help (those older than me love me as much as kiddies for my old school persona, my old people hobbies and how I grew up), staging homes to be sold, managing AirBnb style rentals, grocery shopping, errand running, dog walking, boat cleaning, you name it, I can do it.

My general rate for residential cleaning is $20/hr. It includes a ton of elbow grease and is always backed by a smile. Im VERY detailed and thorough, so I'm seeking clients that take as much pride in their homes as I would. For example, if you want your floors done, but won't allow me time to dust/wipe your baseboards, then we're not a good match. How we get along is also very important, having the same ideals and a welcoming personality will ensure I want to do a great job for you. It may sound different, but I have to want to impress you and if you have a crotchety attitude, I will just leave. I live a positive life and want everyone I surround myself with to be the same. It was a long, dark year with my ex.

The first visit always takes longer. It allows me to really gather everything that needs to be done and gives me time to ensure what I've cleaned is easy for you to maintain. I prefer to take care of your home as a whole, rotating 'bonus' jobs in and out such as the fridge, oven, cupboards, fans etc.

I generally use clients cleaning supplies as everyone likes something different. Some want it cleaned with a lemon wedge, others want bleach. I am able to bring some supplies for move in and move out cleans and I just charge you the cost.

Hand-Ups: Seniors and single parents receive a complimentary 30-60 minutes every visit. Why? Because thank you for building my world and thank you for raising your kids.

Since all of you are potential new clients, I'm offering everyone a complimentary hour on your first visit and a complimentary half hour on your second. Just a little incentive to be the community guinea pig and prove I'm the trustworthy human I say I am. Ill run this promo until I have a few solid references posted to my page.

I appreciate your time to read my novella here and I'm really looking forward to meeting many of you, building my business and becoming so busy I have to hire and create jobs. Not a bad end goal, hey?!

I wish you a safe and happy Salmon Fest.

May the Fish Be With You!

Kind regards,

Laura Marie Steffen

Greetings Beauties and Beasts!!

I've been asked quite a bit if I do-do (pun intended) dog waste removal, and the answer is yes. I was blessed to have Mac as my furry bestie for 15 years, it's not my first time at that rodeo, and besides, I'd love some dog time.

I charge $20/hr with a minimum of $40 per appointment. Inclusive to that hourly rate I provide soil and grass seed to regenerate any dead spots (unless you've a super massive yard and you're going to break me in soil and seed. If lots is required, you pay for it, I'll do the labor as well as pick the stuff up, off the clock) As well, I give the area or your yard a little landscaping spring face lift (optional, but recommended). Landscaping and yard work are my favorite, I'm pretty talented in that area. I remove the do-do from your property so it's not stinking up your garbage bin.

While my general rate is $20/hr for everything from housekeeping, to prep cooking to organizing; those who book an initial gig at my regular $20/hr rate will be eligable for a special $15/hr rate on their next bookings (yes, that's more than one and as many hours as you want) until May 13th (my 35th birthday!! Yay!!).

My minimum for cleaning, organizing etc is one hour within the city, and 2 hours for anything beyond (not written in stone; everything is situational). Anything less than an hour will be charged for an hour. I'm willing to travel as far as Big Lake Ranch, or McLeese Lake give or take, for a minimum of 3 hours.

Move out cleans are $80 for the first 3 hours and $20/hr for any hours beyond the initial 3. They're a ton of work that requires extra elbow grease and I'm usually required to bring my own supplies.

Running a flat rate works too; I'm a fair person, if you're not, I don't want your business anyway. Ha! :)

For residential I can provide my own supplies, though I do prefer to use yours as it stops cross contamination between homes.

I'll clean anything, don't be shy to ask. I've seen it all and never ever judge and I'm very confidential. From companionship (hang out with the kiddies or read to your dear Grandmother or take your Grandfather for a back roads cruise) to cooking to cleaning to some home repairs to yard work to landscaping, to pruning to planting to gardening (I've two green thumbs) to splitting/stacking firewood, to cleaning out the barn - I have experience beyond my years.

I refuse to do a half-a* job. If you're looking for quick good enough job, not a good one, I'm not your gal.

Dog friendly, cat friendly, reptile friendly, horse and cow friendly, kid friendly, senior friendly... No

Happy Spring!! :)

Greetings Beauties and Beasts!!

I'm currently in Williams Lake while my gent attends university. I can't dig around for forgotten history all day so I'm sure there are a few people who need assistance organizing, cleaning, or doing yardwork/landscaping. I'm highly versatile, very handy, super strong for my size and have elbow grease to spare. I'm also amazing with children, and have been called the Kid Whisperer many times.

I'm a good cook and have helped many families with prep cooking and getting supper on the table so the parents can focus time with the wee ones. A few bachelors and aged folks have benefitted from this service as well.

Move out cleans are charged at a different taste of $80 for the first 3 hours and $20/hr after that. Includes walls and all that jazz and unless you've completely trashed the place, I can guarantee you'll get your deposit back.

I'm a smiley pleasure to be around and am loved by people of all ages, especially kids and the elderly. I've built this business on trust and take great pride in being a solid, upstanding human being.

My Williams Lake introductory rate will be $15/hr, or $10/hr for entertaining your kiddies during the day. I tend to use my clients cleaning supplies given everyone likes something different; some people clean with bleach, others with a lemon. It takes all types.

Feel free to text, call or pm me with any questions. Mon-Thurs availability, but am open to taking weekend gigs as well.

Thanks oodles!!
