Check those effluent filters as part of your spring cleaning! This tank was surcharged backed up as you can see, and the filter was pushed up and out of the baffle from the solids and head pressure. Clean them annually or every 6 months to prevent issues like this from happening. Not a job for you? Give us a call and we can come clean and assess your system to see if it’s ready to pump out.

With Fall peaking around the corner it’s a good time to get those filters cleaned! Plugged filters cause backups and can lead to more solids getting to your pump chamber or distribution boxes! Keep them clean!

This Client had a poor installation with this
electrical box being inside the pump chamber, the mounting bracket corroded so bad from the moisture and gases that it almost fell Into the tank. Upon further assessment we noticed the plug was smoking when pump would turn on due too moisture in the electrical box. Glad we caught this in time as it would have likely melted and shorted out causing major issues. Have a look at your pumps annually at minimum to make sure everything is still mounted properly, Also if possible make sure your electrical wiring is outside of the chamber and mounted on a wall or post!

A look at the last picture shows how much debris these filters can prevent from going to your septic fields. If they don’t get cleaned the effluent can be restricted causing a slow flow rate and will eventually cause a backup!
