Ceramic Tint Vs. Regular Tint: The Difference Is Real
Until you have all the facts, you can easily be forgiven for thinking that most types of vehicle window tint are pretty much the same. If almost all types of automotive window film are designed to add privacy and reduce the temperature inside a car, then what does it matter if one type of window tint is made using metals, another using carbon, other using dyes, and still others made with nano-ceramics?

In terms of intended function, there is little difference between ceramic tint for cars and any other type of vehicle window tinting film. Most people who want to add tint to a vehicle are hoping for added privacy, reduced interior cabin temperatures, and hope to improve the appearance of the car, truck, or SUV as well. Most types of window film also increase the strength of glass windows, making them more resistant to cracking or even shattering when struck by debris or in the event of an accident.

Ceramic tint for cars is not so much different than other window films in terms of performance, but rather it outperforms most window films in every category.

Ceramic tints are made using millions of microscopic particles of titanium nitride infused into thin layers of films. Unlike dye-based window films that often fade and discolor over time, ceramic tint will never change colors or fade even after years of exposure to direct sunlight. It is truly color stable and resilient.

Metalized window tints are mostly color stable as well, but their look is unappealing to many drivers. Metallic window film tends to be shiny and reflective (looking like polished metal, e.g.) and creates a mirrored look that can detract from the appearance of a vehicle. Ceramic window tint is non reflective. Ceramic tints are also inert, and do not block or interfere with the signals from phones, radios, and GPS devices, a common problem with metalized window tinting.

Carbon window tint is one of the more modern types of vehicle window film and it offers many of the benefits of nano-ceramic tints. It does not interfere with radio, satellite, or phone transmissions, and it is not shiny or reflective like metallic films. But carbon tints do tend to be quite dark in appearance, adding more shading than many people prefer. These films are also slightly less effective than ceramic tints at blocking solar heat.

Nano-ceramic window tint for cars rejects 99% of the sun’s harmful UV light and a large portion of the warming IR light. It does this without blocking signals transmitted or received from phones or radios, and without reducing the clarity of the view out through the windows from inside the car.

Another unique benefit of ceramic tint vs. regular window tint is that many ceramic tints are almost entirely imperceptible. Not everyone wants to add shading or even privacy to their vehicle; certain ceramic tints allow for the reduction of solar heat and the rejection of UV light without the noticeable darkening of the windows or any marked alteration of the appearance of the automobile. So if you love the way your car looks or if you need to cool down and better protect a vehicle that can’t be tinted based on local regulations and/or because it is a commercial or governmental vehicle, ceramic tints are a great option.

FILM DRY-OUT TIME
The mounting solution used during the installation of your window film may require a dry-out time. Cold or non-sunny weather conditions can lengthen the dry-out time, while warm weather and direct sun light exposure will shorten the dry-out time. Small water beads and a slightly cloudy look may appear during the dry-out time. If slow drying does occur, do not become alarmed. The film will dry-out.
DO NOT CLEAN THE FILM FOR 30 DAYS AFTER INSTALLATION.

Did you know that window tinting is one of the single most popular aftermarket additions to cars? That's because adding a tint to your ride offers a range of benefits, and has never been more affordable. Here are just five of the main reasons everyone should darken their windows today:

Window tinting greatly reduces the amount of sunlight that can enter your car. The most obvious benefit is that a tint will keep your car cooler during the hot summer months, since less sunlight means less heat. Besides being uncomfortably hot, direct sunlight can be very damaging both to your skin and your car's upholstery—we don't want either of you to crack or warp! The good news is that a window tint can block up to 99% of damaging UV rays, which means that in addition to just having a more comfortable ride, you also have a safer one.

The second big benefit of window tinting is that it offers you privacy and security. Some of us don't like being immediately recognized everywhere we drive, and a decent tint will obviously conceal the contents of the car as well as the driver. Security experts will be the first to tell you that break-ins and car thefts are far more common in cases where the criminal can clearly see the interior of the vehicle—if a crook doesn't know that you have a great sound system or is unsure whether you've got a club on your steering wheel, they will be far more likely to keep looking for an easier target.

Another reason to upgrade to a window tint is that it enhances your car's appearance. If you want to have a truly eye-catching ride, then dark windows are non-negotiable. There's a reason everyone from Kanye to Kid Rock wears sunglasses all the time—they're just plain cool.

The fourth benefit of tinting is another practical concern: darkened windows reduce hazardous glare. Fiddling with your visor or holding up your hand when the sun gets in your eyes isn't particularly effective, and worse still, it distracts you from the road. Window tint film on your rear and side windows will prevent you from ever being blinded, keeping you and your passengers safe.

Finally, window tinting creates an additional barrier between your ride's windows and any road debris that comes flying at you. It basically functions as a scratch-resistant coating, just like you might put over your smart phone's screen. This keeps your car looking fresh for the long haul.
