Hello Pool People. I know that splash time is still a bit down the road but your winterized pool has had lots of snow piled onto it this unforgiving winter. So before the big melt starts and the solid ice gives way to squishy water I recommend you take a look at the winter cover and remove as much snow weight as possible to prevent damage to the pool structure.

With the upcoming rain and warm upish weather it may be a good time to check on the winter cover and the water level. Pumping water off may be a good preventive measure to avoid potential damage to the structure.

My pool people; the past few hot sunny days have been blasting the chlorine in your water with UV rays. It would be wise to do a little shock addition this evening to keep ahead of the algae.

Just a friendly reminder:

With all this rain and fast melting snow, pool owners should not forget to check their winter covers for excessive weight and strain on the pool structure. Pump off the water with a sump pump!

The lack of snow this winter has been great for your pool’s cover. However all the rain we’ve had has probably raised the water level in the pool and/or on the cover. With the forecasted freezing period to come water expansion and ice damage is of concern.
Now would be a good time to check the condition of your winterized pool.
