❄️Snowed In, But Not Out! Winter Detailing Tips for Ontario Drivers 🚗
Well, Ontario, Mother Nature certainly delivered a doozy this week! With snow piled high and roads getting messy, it’s easy to let car care slide. But did you know winter is crucial for protecting your vehicle’s finish and interior?
Here are some weather-related detailing tips to keep your ride happy, even under all that white stuff:
🥶 1. The Salt Struggle is Real!
Road salt is the enemy of your car's paint and undercarriage. As soon as temperatures allow, get that salt off! A touchless car wash is a quick fix, but a thorough hand wash (when it's safe and above freezing!) with a good car shampoo is best to prevent corrosion. Pay extra attention to wheel wells and rocker panels.
🧤 2. Interior Cleanup: Tackling Slush & Mud
All that snow means slush, mud, and salt getting tracked into your car.
Floor Mats: Remove and shake out regularly. Consider rubber winter mats for extra protection.
Vacuum: A quick vacuum of carpets prevents salt stains from setting in.
Wipe Down: Use an interior cleaner on door sills and panels where slush often splashes.
✨ 3. Don't Forget Your Glass!
Gritty roads mean dirty windshields. Use a good quality winter-formulated windshield washer fluid and regularly clean the inside of your windows to remove that hazy film that reduces visibility. A rain repellent treatment can also help shed snow and ice.
🛡️ 4. Seal the Deal: Wax & Sealants
If you haven't already, a good coat of wax or a paint sealant before winter truly hits (or after a good wash now) creates a barrier against salt, ice, and UV rays that reflect off snow. It makes future cleaning much easier too!
Stay safe on the roads, Ontario! A little extra care now can save your car from a lot of winter wear and tear.
