🕷️ TICK SEASON IS HERE IN PETERBOROUGH & THE KAWARTHA’S 🕷️
As temperatures continue to warm up across Central Ontario, ticks are becoming more active in wooded areas, tall grass, trails, and even residential backyards.
Ticks are commonly found:
✔️ Along wooded property lines
✔️ In tall grass and leaf litter
✔️ Around cottages and waterfront properties
✔️ On hiking and walking trails
✔️ In areas frequented by wildlife and pets
Many homeowners don’t realize that ticks can easily be brought into the home by pets, clothing, or outdoor activities.
With more families spending time outdoors during the spring and summer months, prevention and awareness are becoming increasingly important.
A few helpful prevention tips:
✅ Keep grass cut short
✅ Remove leaf piles and yard debris
✅ Wear light-coloured clothing on trails
✅ Check pets and clothing after outdoor activities
✅ Create clear borders between wooded areas and lawns
Properties surrounded by trees, nature, and waterfront areas throughout the Kawartha Lakes region can experience increased tick activity during the warmer months.
Enjoy the outdoors - just stay aware and protected this season.
