How to Get Rid of Chocolate Stains
•
Chocolate stains are made up of sugars, colors, fats, and cream, and they can be difficult to remove if you don't know where to start. To begin, using a credit card or butter knife with a flat edge, gently scrape out any hardened chunks of chocolate. This is a vital first step since the less chocolate you have to treat, the better. This method will also remove caramel stains.

Then, using whatever dish soap or laundry detergent you have on hand, pre-treat the stain. Allow for a 10-minute soak before washing in cool water as usual. If the stain remains, create a solution of 2 parts hydrogen peroxide to 1 part dish soap and leave it on for an hour or so, or soak the garment in oxygen bleach and then rewash until the stain is gone – remember, you may need to repeat this step.
