If you love beach trips 🏖️🌴🏄 you probably know how far sand can travel!

Here are a few tips for keeping sand where it belongs (at the beach) instead of tracking it into your car and home:

🏖️ Shake it off: Start with the basics - make sure you thoroughly shake off your beach blankets, clothes, and accessories as much as possible when you’re leaving the beach.

🧺Bag it up: Make sure you have a big beach bag that you can toss all the dirty towels and other sandy items into before you get into the car. Ideally you want a beach bag that is machine washable, and has a drawstring or other closure at the top to keep everything contained. Dump the whole bag right in the laundry once you’re back home!

🩴Extra Shoes: Have clean shoes or sandals ready for everyone to switch into before getting into the car. Add the dirty sandals into your beach bag until you get home, where you can then rinse them off outside.

🚗Seat Covers: If you have a furred friend along for the trip (or just want extra protection for your car), consider getting a washable cover for your back seat area.

Swimwear isn’t cheap, so make sure you get the most use possible out of every piece. Here are some tips for keeping your swimwear going, summer after summer!☀️

🌊 Rinse Immediately After Swimming
Chlorine, sunscreen, saltwater, and sand break down elastic fast. A quick cold‑water rinse right after swimming is the biggest game‑changer.

🫧 Hand Wash Only
Skip the washing machine (even on gentle). Hand washing keeps the fabric stretchy, smooth, and vibrant.

🧼 Use a Gentle Detergent
Choose a mild soap or a detergent made for delicates. Harsh cleaners strip color and weaken fibers.

❎ Avoid Wringing or Twisting
Instead, press water out gently. Twisting damages the elastic and causes sagging over time.

🌬️ Air Dry Flat
Never use the dryer or hang straps to dry. Heat + gravity = stretched‑out swimwear. Lay it flat in the shade for best results (direct sunlight can fade colours).

⏱️ Rotate Your Suits
Elastic needs time to recover. If you swim often, rotate between suits to help them keep their shape.

Don’t let the warm weather stop you from having a ✨~clean home~✨

Here are a few cleaning tasks that might actually help you cool off instead of sweat:

🧊Fridge/Freezer: This is probably the coolest place to be! You get to enjoy the chilly air as you clean the crumbs, spills, and expired food.

📦Basement: Heat rises and cool air sinks! Your basement is probably several degrees cooler than the upper levels of your home, so you can stay comfortable while you sort through those old storage bins.

🌪️Fans/Vents: You may not feel cooler DURING this cleaning task, but you might feel cooler AFTER! Fans & vents can get clogged up with dust, reducing airflow and making them run less efficiently. Clean those vents and let the cool, clean air flow!
