As a Commercial Cleaner, I work after hours in local businesses cleaning and disinfecting. I wanted to pass along some common sense precautions employees should consider on day-to-day bases but are especially relevant during the crisis we are experiencing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
• Clean your phone, mouse and keyboard with disinfectant wipes, especially if you share these devices with others.
• Consider removing your keyboard wrist and mouse pads, at least for now.
• Don’t leave your dishes in the kitchen area or in your work-space, your cleaner or co-workers could be touching them to clean around them. Best to take them home.
• Dispose of your coffee cups appropriately in the recycling, don’t leave them for other staff members or cleaning staff to remove, you could be passing on germs.
• This is a great time to dispose of or take home things that are collecting dust in your office; those knick-knacks are germ magnets.
• Remove papers from your desktop, disinfecting could damage your work and prevent your area from being adequately cleaned.
• Use the tap on your chip debit or credit card as much as possible, avoid paying with cash if you can, money carries all kinds of bacteria and who knows what else.
• Use gas pumps and pin pads cautiously, make sure to clean your steering wheel, don’t be afraid to wear gloves, I’m not!
• Wash your hands like you mean business!!!
FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS, STAY SAFE EVERYONE.
