Itโs been a while since Iโve posted and I figured I should considering the current panic around the coronavirus.
At my own home and those of my clients I have stepped up my game with some preventative cleaning.
Things like doors and handles, cabinet handles, chair backs, taps, handles, buttons and k***s on appliances, switches and plates etc are touched quite often and can house a plethora of bacteria and viruses. I would suggest disinfecting these daily or at least a few times a week to prevent the spread of germs etc.
I use just a bucket of hot water with a capful of Meyers cleaning solution, (any all purpose cleaner will do) and I add a few drops of the Doterra ON GUARD essential oil. You can use something like tea tree oil as well. Wiping things down with this and a good microfibre cloth will do wonders to disinfect your home and also make it smell amazing without harmful chemicals and fragrances.
Most homes this will take 10-20 minutes to just do a quick wipe of hot spots and take a little stress off ๐
If you have diffusers and vaporizers I would use these often. Not only does adding humidity to the air to help keep mucus membranes in your body moist so they can function properly, but you can add helpful essential oils like eucalyptus for respiratory issues to your household air.
Iโve been bumping the ON GUARD every day through my diffusers since flu season started, smells lovely and helps battle viruses and bacteria in the air.
Things like pillow cases and sheets should be washed once a week. If youโre like me this is a tough one as our schedule is crazy lol. But any child above the age of basically 3 can help with this. I just get my boys to strip their beds, put the sheets by the washer and put new sheets on. Total 15 mins and they are learning life skills lol!
You may feel the need to bleach bomb your house and buy up cleaners like Lysol etc. with everything that is going on and I totally understand. However pouring chemicals into your house can make matters worse by inhaling the fumes, and taking some green cleaning precautions can go a long way to reduce the spread of coronavirus and other bacteria and viruses.
If youโd like to buy the ON GUARD my sister Becky Laforge sells it along with other oils great for boosting immunity and cleaning. Feel free to contact her through her website. Here is the link for that oil, I usually it all over my house, diffuse it daily right now, and add it to my products for cleaning my clients homes. I use it as a bleach replacement when it comes to cleaning and germs and breath a little easier. You can also make hand sanitizer with it!๐
I have to note that not all essential oils are pure, if youโre buying up cheap ones from shoppers drug mart etc youโre basically buying a whack of chemicals. I use the doterra as they are third party tested and pure ๐
