Day 65 of posting my workdays to keep my ADHD brain accountable. 😅

Started the day by finishing up the three-piece outfit I was working on yesterday!

Moving the sleeves up on the jacket was quite the job! The mesh sequin material meant I had to be extremely careful when removing the sleeves, but I got it done! 🙌

After that, I tackled a few other repairs and got to finish off my afternoon with TWO zipper replacements! If you’ve been watching for a while, you know how happy that makes me! 😂💚

A Little Bit of Everything Today! 🧵✂️

Day 64 of posting my workdays to keep my ADHD brain accountable. 😅

Started the day with five items from one customer that needed a mix of repairs and hems!

Then I moved on to a three-piece outfit that needed alterations to every piece. I managed to get through two of them, but the jacket will have to wait until tomorrow! 😂

Nothing too exciting today, just another day of making clothes fit better and last longer! 💚

Day 63 of posting my workdays to keep my ADHD brain accountable. 😅

I finally finished up the big order I’ve been working on for the last few days! The total for all of his alterations came to $500, and now he’s got a whole bunch of clothes that fit him properly again instead of having to replace his wardrobe! 💚

This afternoon, I headed down to the bridal shop to help one of my customers decide whether an off-the-rack dress was worth purchasing, knowing it would need quite a bit of alterations.

This is something I’m always happy to do for customers shopping for wedding or grad dresses who plan on having me do their alterations! Since I’m the one who would be doing the work, I can give them a much better idea of what’s possible, how complicated the alterations would be, and what they might be getting themselves into before they buy. 😂

Sometimes having a seamstress take a look before you commit to a dress can save you a lot of surprises later!

Almost Finished With This Wardrobe! 😂🧵

Day 62 of posting my workdays to keep my ADHD brain accountable. 😅

Another full day working on alterations for the same customer as yesterday!

After today, I’ve only got one and a half sweaters left to finish. Half because I got one started today and just need to finish it tomorrow, and then one more after that! 😂

It’s been a lot of work, but we’re almost at the finish line! I love that he’s choosing to alter his clothes to fit him again rather than replacing his whole wardrobe. 💚

Day 61 of posting my workdays to keep my ADHD brain accountable. 😅

I started the day shortening, tapering and adding cuffs to a pair of scrub pants, and then spent the rest of the day taking in pants for one customer!

He’s lost weight and wants to keep wearing the clothes he already owns instead of having to replace his whole wardrobe, which I love! 💚

And we’re not done yet! Tomorrow I’ve got a bunch of his sweaters and other clothing to take in too. 😂

It’s a great reminder that just because your clothes don’t fit anymore doesn’t mean you need to get rid of them!

Did you know you can replace the button on your jeans? 👖😂

If the metal button on your favourite jeans breaks or falls off, you don’t necessarily need a new pair of pants!

We can replace jean buttons, and it’s a quick little repair that can make your jeans wearable again.

It’s one of those small fixes that people don’t always realize is possible!

Would you pay $30 to repair something you could replace for $30? 🤔🧵

It’s a question I think is worth talking about!

When clothing is mass-produced and sold incredibly cheaply, it can make professional repairs seem expensive by comparison.

But when you pay for a repair, you’re paying for someone’s time, experience and skill.

You’re also keeping something you already own in use, reducing waste and avoiding another unnecessary purchase.

Of course, not every repair makes financial sense for everyone, and that’s okay!

I’m curious, how do you decide whether something is worth repairing?
