Converting the greenbelt into residential neighborhoods is not practical from many sides...
It is heritage for the future generation, it would erase habiatat for many spieces, costly development of the infrastructure through dense marshes and forest areas. The cost of clearing the land, installation of sewer and waterline in fully undeveloped land
Is much higher.

And last but not least considering the cost of labor and materials, could canadian taxpayer afford it?
