At this McDonald’s Canada location, the exhaust ductwork lacked the access required for proper inspection and cleaning. The deficiency had been identified, and Complete Kitchen Exhaust was called in to provide the solution.

Our team professionally created the required access opening and completed the installation with a custom stainless steel access cover designed to blend seamlessly with the original hood assembly while maintaining future accessibility.

While on-site to measure an exhaust fan for a wind band extension installation, we identified several additional deficiencies that could impact safety and reliability.

🔍 Deficiencies noted:
⚠️Exhaust fan electrical power switch box exposed to the elements.
⚠️Electrical housing/junction box unsecured and hanging loose.
⚠️Gas line support not providing adequate support for the gas piping.

Many issues like these go unnoticed because they’re outside the kitchen and above the roofline. Regular inspections don’t just identify cleaning requirements, they help uncover safety, maintenance, and compliance concerns before they become larger problems.

Another deficiency identified at a McDonald’s location today.

After inspection, we determined that new access will be required above the drop ceiling, along with a custom 24”x24” support structure, to properly access the ductwork moving forward.

A quote is now being prepared for the corrective work.

Hoods were cleaned, but the ductwork has NEVER been touched. This is more common than you think — and many restaurant owners have no idea. That hidden buildup is where serious fire risks start ⚠️

Ductwork welding repair completed at a McDonald’s Canada location.

This is a follow-up from our story yesterday where we were inspecting the system to ensure it was safe to proceed.

The issue was already known — their current kitchen exhaust cleaning provider does not handle deficiencies like this.

After inspection and verification, our welding team — led by Ryan Napolitano — installed a custom steel patch to properly seal the leak and prevent future issues.

This is something we deal with regularly.

Cleaning is one part of the system — repairs, access, and structural integrity are just as important.

We handle it all.
