JOB BRIEF:
Shift begins at 7am opening an Elementary School and preparing the school for opening. Disarm alarm, unlock all classrooms, prepare for day and clean necessary areas as outlined in procedures.

School starts at 9:00am once school begins your day time custodial position begins. There are elements of computer logs, email communications and cleaning tasks that must be completed every day.

You will report to the owner of the company, we are a private company conducting private contract cleaning for school boards and commercial property.

TWO DAYS A WEEK (Every Monday and Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm)

Tasks include but not limited too:
- daily cleaning of classrooms, surface cleaning, dry mopping, vacuum, wet mopping
- daily cleaning of daycare rooms (same procedure as public classrooms)

- Probation period for 3 full calendar months, turning permanent for the right candidate. Looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working individual to join Huron Shores Cleaning working in a commercial environment.

To maintain the cleanliness of all designated buildings as directed using appropriate equipment and materials supplied, ensuring all buildings are kept in a clean and hygienic condition.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (CANDIDATE WILL HAVE TO TAKE ON LAST-MINUTE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY OUT OF REGULAR DUTIES WHEN ASKED TO DO SO)
1. CLEANING, SANITIZING, WASHING, SWEEPING, VACUUM CLEANING, EMPTYING OF ALL LITTER BINS, POLISHING, AND DUSTING ALL DESIGNATED AREAS
2. CLEANING OF GLASS WINDOWS AND DOOR FRAMING
3. CLEANING MARKS ETC. OFF WALLS
4. CLEANING OF ALL PUBLIC SERVICE AREAS SUCH AS; TOILETS, FIXTURES, SHOWER AREAS, CHANGE ROOMS, GYMS ETC.
5. REPLENISHING HAND TOWELS, TOILET ROLLS, SOAPS ETC. REPLACING MOP HEADS. CHANGING VACUUM BAGS
6. USING PROPER POWER EQUIPMENT WHEN APPROPRIATE
7. COVERING FOR OTHER CLEANERS IN THE EVENT OF ABSENCE AND HOLIDAYS - AT SHORT NOTICE MAY BE REQUIRED
8. ANY OTHER TASK AS DIRECTED BY GENERAL MANAGER
9. RELIABLE VEHICLE, POSSESS G2-G LICENSE
10. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK A SET PATTERN AND FLEXIBLE WHEN INSTANCE IS REQUIRED
11. WILLING TO DRIVE UP TO 1.5 HOUR (COMPENSATION TO BE DISCUSSED OVER INTERVIEW)

As a Facility Custodian on Huron Shores cleaning team you will help to create a welcoming comfortable experience that exceeds the expectations of our clients by ensuring a consistently clean and well-maintained facility. Facility Custodians should take pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment while keeping an eye out for safety.

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

-Perform extensive covid cleaning tasks
-Ensure cleaning checklists and maintenance logs are maintained and up to date
-Maintain garbage collection areas and help facilitate an effective recycling program
-Keep all exits and entraces including keep emergency exits and hallways clear of debris
-Keep the client waiting areas sanitized and respond to maintenance incidents as they arise
-Ensure cleaning supply stock is adequate and well organized
Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors of various types
-Dusting ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture.
Scrubbing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures.
-Emptying trash cans.
-Washing and drying windows.
-Liaising with the line manager to ensure that you have sufficient cleaning products at all times.
-Reporting any breakages that occur during the cleaning process.
-Informing the owner/manager of repairs that need to be done.
-Lower car bay to be cleaned and washed every night including desks, bathrooms, kitchen, staff room etc.
Qualifications

Experience in a custodial or light maintenance role (min, 2 years)
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must have valid G Drivers license
-Demonstrate exceptional guest service and problem-solving skills
-Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision
-Internally motivated with a consistently high level of energy
-Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks needing attention
-High attention to detail
-Strong organizational skills, while possessing flexibility towards different tasks
-Availability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
-Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time in both an indoor and outdoor environment
-Ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds as necessary
-Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols
