West Coast Extraction Systems is looking to hire full time *Light Duty Marine Cleaners* Starting September 10, 2021

Work locations: Richmond (base location), North Vancouver, Tsawwassen, Victoria, Nanaimo and various locations out of town.

Available 24/7, 365 days a year with flexible hours.

Must be able to perform a full range of janitorial assignments using limited judgement with specific instructions from a Supervisor by well-defined procedures, methods and practices. Capable and have experience with washing and scrubbing of all surfaces (stripping and waxing floors would be an asset). Knowledge of how to use and maintain portable equipment (such as carpet cleaners, floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, etc.) would be an asset, as well as knowledge of cleaning methods and product use. Must have personal protection equipment (PPE): hard hat, safety glasses and steel toed footwear required. Valid WHMIS certificate mandatory. Valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract to drive company vehicles. All staff are required to do an onsite safety orientation yearly at all sites prior to working. Must be able to communicate and understand English both verbally and hand written. Wage will depend on knowledge and experience. Union opportunity with benefits.

The ability to wash, mop, scrub, strip and wax and to determine appropriate use of tools, equipment and cleaning materials. Experience and knowledge to carpet clean and pressure wash including machine use. Must be able to operate and maintain trucks and equipment. Qualified and must have 2 years experience as a heavy-duty cleaner and be mechanically inclined. Confident in supervising and leading a crew of light duty to heavy duty cleaners with the ability to train employees and coordinate work efficiently. Ensure quality control and productivity of work in progress and completion. Experience with fall protection, aerial lifts and confined spaces as well as a valid WHMIS (SDS) mandatory. Must have personal protection equipment (PPE): hard hat, safety glasses and steel toed footwear required. Valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract to drive company vehicles. Heavy Duty Marine Cleaners

Experienced in:

Carpet Cleaning, Pressure Washing and Floor Treatments (ie: stripping and waxing).

Must have the ability to Supervise and Lead crew(s) of Heavy Duty and Light Duty Cleaners.

Must have the ability to Operate and Maintain Company Trucks and Equipment (with Valid Driver’s License).

Must have Operational Skills to determine the appropriate use of time, tools and materials needed to accomplish the job.

Must have Quality Control Skills to insure work progress and completion.

Must have Strong Public Relation Skills: Digital Communication, Hand written and Verbal.



Applicants must be:

Willing Work in an Industrial Environment,

Available to Work 7am to 3:30pm

Willing to Work Flexible Hours and Locations

Personal Transportation (with valid Driver’s License) an asset.

Note, Driving abstract may be requested.

Wage will depend on experience, certifications and availability.
