Winter salt is integral in helping us keep our cars (and ourselves) from sliding on slippery snow and ice covered roads and sidewalks. However, we should be keeping that salt where it belongs - outside. Easy enough right? Wrong. We’ve all seen it, salt stains on our carpets, floors, shoes, everywhere. That being said, nothing removes salt stains better than some simple warm water, vinegar, and a microfibre cloth.
To get rid of the stains, simply mix the water and vinegar, saturate whatever surface you are cleaning with it, let it sit for a few minutes, and then simply wipe away with the cloth. The vinegar/water mixture will help dissolve a majority of the salt, whereas the cloth will have some level of abrasiveness to scrub off any excess remaining salt deposits.
