A successful hunt in a bin of sandbags. We caught three juvenile rats in about 40 minutes after moving about 30 sandbags around!

Pippin and Preacher on the hunt for voles in a vineyard.

Voles are a common pest in the Okanagan that can populate quickly and do a lot of damage as they are active both in the day and the night. They are about the size of a mouse, with a stubby tail, plump bodies, and round ears.

An interesting fact - voles' populations spike every few years, jumping from several hundred up to several thousand in only a few months!
