Dear Customer:
As you've probably heard in the media, COVID-19 has spread throughout the world including Canada, so I just wanted to provide some additional information for facilities.
COVID-19 is primarily spread through person-to-person contact and transmission via infected surfaces is a secondary means of transmission. What this means for your facility is that while enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols during the interim period can help, the most effective method for preventing virus transmission is to educate occupants on proper physical interactions and good hygiene practices.
The main method of reducing transmission in your facility is communicating to occupants about the following (putting up reminder signs in restrooms and eating areas will help):
-Wash hands frequently;
-Maintain social distancing especially if someone is coughing (minimum 3-6 feet);
-Avoid touching your face;
-Cover your mouth with your bent elbow or tissue when sneezing;
-Staying home if you're not feeling well;
Here's the measurable steps and best practices we're taking in all facilities to protect your health and safety:
-We're using a hospital-grade disinfectant certified as effective against previous-type coronaviruses (SARS, MARS);
-Enhanced touchpoints cleaning throughout the entire facility;
-Continuously retraining existing employees on proper disinfection of hard surfaces and identification of critical touchpoints.
Outside of these things, some things to consider:
-Explore the option of providing disposable wipes or disinfectant spray bottles so employees can clean shared common areas such as conference tables and lunch tables before personal use, and so employees can clean personal spaces such as desks, phones, backs of chairs, and keyboards;
-Explore the option of providing commercial hand sanitizers to employees;
-Develop and ensure your facility has a continuity plan in the event of a mass outbreak (eg. talk to important suppliers/vendors, figure out what a reduced scope looks like, etc.).
If there's anything I can do for you, please let me know.
Thank you,
Jimmy J.
