This hardwood floor, originally installed in 1929, had been covered with carpet since the 1970s–80s. Once the carpet was removed, the floor showed heavy mastic residue, and sun fading from prior to the carpet being installed
The Process:
1. We used a high-productivity floor pad with a swing machine to remove the remaining mastic adhesive.
2. After the mastic was removed, we screened the floor with a prep pad to create a smooth, clean surface.
3. Finally, we applied three coats of Sport Kote by Essential Industries to restore and protect the wood floor.
You don't need to hire a contractor for every floor restoration project. With the right products and equipment, this process is simple to complete yourself. If you're unsure where to start, we can show you how to use a swing machine in just a few minutes and help you choose the right products for the job.
