When you spill wine, coffee or any other liquids on your carpet, first thing that comes to mind is to grab a towel and start rubbing the stain. This is the most common mistake! This will only drive the stain down to the carpet and it can damage the fibers...INSTEAD, grab a paper towel or a rag and gently dab/blot the stain. Blotting puts a small amount of pressure on the stain so you can soak it up. Always blot from the outer edge of the stain inward toward the center.
