🚨 Friday, December 5 Opening Day Update🚨
Temporary Delay Due to Essential System Repair
This summer, Vista Ridge completed a massive overhaul of our snowmaking system, including the complete rebuild of all pumps and motors to 'as-new' standards. This was a significant investment to ensure the best possible snow quality for you this season.
Unfortunately, yesterday there was an unexpected failure in one of these newly rebuilt motors, which means our snowmaking system is no longer operating at capacity. Our contractors have been swift with their response, and warranty repair work is being organized immediately. To facilitate the necessary repair, the motor must be uninstalled and transported to the shop. Due to the motor's size and location within the pumphouse, the only safe and viable method to remove it is by helicopter.
The Safety of our guests and our team is our number one priority. We cannot have any guests within a mandatory 500-foot safety perimeter of the helicopter operation zone. Tomorrow's planned morning opening must be delayed until the helicopter has completed its work. Note that the entrance gate will be closed, and there will be no access to Vista Ridge on Friday Morning.
Anticipated Opening & The Good News
We anticipate opening on Friday at 12:00 noon, as soon as it is safe to do so.
Lift Tickets will be $20.
Despite this setback, we are pleased to share the GREAT progress we have already made:
✅ Christina, Clearwater, and the Bunny Hill are already built and ready to ski!
⏳ Work continues diligently on Valley View, Blackbear, Wilson Chairline, and the Tube Park.
We understand this is disappointing news, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes. We are working as fast as possible to complete this critical operation and get the resort open.
