Dear Producers,
This letter is being written in regard to the approval process of the AVIX Autonomic Mark II (also referred to as “Automatic Bird Repellent System”).
The AVIX Autonomic Mark II has been a proven device in the reduction of the bird populations in various applications. It has been proven effective in agriculture to reduce bird predation by more than 70% on the crops and has saved millions each year. It also improves food hygiene which is more important than ever.
Health Canada has completed their research and has given approval of the use “Automatic Bird Repellent Sysrem” and now PMRA has 555 days to review the evidence and 45 days of public concerns to final approval.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is currently responding to avian influenza in farmed birds across Canada. This serves as a strong reminder that avian influenza is spreading across the globe and that anyone with farm animals must practice good biosecurity habits.
AVIX Autonomic Mark II has been used throughout the world to reduce bird congregation around crops, farms and the spread of avian influenza. To further delay approval of the AVIX Autonomic Mark II will cost Canadians tens of thousands of birds and continue to put our food safety in danger of increased risk of Avian Influenza to the poultry industry.
It is vitally important AVIX Autonomic Mark II is given approval until the PMRA gives final approved as soon as possible in the interest of food protection and the reducing the spread of Avian Influenza. The PMRA must do their part.
For those considering “Automatic Bird Repellent Systems” , if you could send a short note requesting an interm approval of the device with your name and business, we will forward those details to PMRA for approval to show a need for such devices.
Many thanks.
Mark von Kintzel
