Guess the Pest Clues 🕵️‍♂️🐝

Can you guess this pest?

🔹 It builds large gray, football-shaped paper nests that can be found in trees, shrubs, sheds, and under eaves.

🔹 Workers can grow up to 20 mm long, making them one of the largest stinging wasps commonly seen on Vancouver Island.

🔹 They’re easily recognized by their black bodies and distinctive white markings on their face and abdomen.

🔹 They help control other insects by hunting flies, caterpillars, and other pests.

🔹 Colonies can contain hundreds of workers by late summer, when they become most defensive around their nests.
